Chance that Best Buy will waive restocking fee?

Clak

CAGiversary!
Recently bought a GPS from Best Buy that I found Amazon actually has for less. I was going to return it to Best Buy and buy from Amazon instead, but I noticed that Best Buy has a 15% restocking fee on GPS units. Pisses me off because I checked online before buying and all I found then was that I had 30 days to return it, the restocking fee part is on a different page.

Has anyone ever had luck with getting them to waive the restocking fee on something? I really wish I had seen that before I bought it, but as I said they didn't state it on the page I initially read.

This is the one I bought btw: http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-4-3-In...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278223544&sr=8-1

If it's within the return period, why not try to pricematch? I know my local Bestbuy will match amazon. If not, then it's a tossup on the restocking fee. I've only been charged for one once.

Why not order it from amazon, then when you get the new one use that with the best buy receipt and get a refund

this. it's the exact same product.

I thought about that, but the box and unit have identical bar code stickers on them, worried best buy might know it's a different one somehow.

You've actually gotten best buy to price match amazon though? I thought they only did price checks for physical stores?

Some best buys will. hell some will match online no matter where as long as it has a physical store. That is how I get my splinter cell 360 for 250 at best buy. I would just call and ask to talk to a manager. I had a laptop that I bought when vista came out and could not use it for what I wanted to use it for. I saw they had the restocking fee and after about an hour of trying to get a hold of a manager they said they would wave it.
