No. You need the CD-Key that comes with the full box to start one.

Around as good as the fry's deal, when you add in tax, although I think I saw it advertised recently at CC for ~$35, but I might be mistaken.

pretty sure he meant do u need a credit card to.... No, the gamecard is sufficient.
