This isn't an incredible deal, but isn't too bad if you need good batteries for you Wiimotes, other electronic's remotes, or for mp3 players.

The Kmart here has a shipper of 2-packs of AA and AAA Duracell batteries that are 10 for $10. I had a rep price check them and they ring up $1 per pack so there is no need to buy 10 packs for the deal.

The cashier didn't notice the price and tried to switch me to a 8 pack that was $6.49 + had a $1 coupon on it. I noted to her that $5.49 for 8 batteries is not better than the $5 for 10 that I was buying.

The only other multi-pack of Duracell I saw there was a 18 pack for $12.29 that also had a $1 coupon on the package. But again, $11.29 for 18 is not better than $9 for 18 buying from the shipper.

The tag said this runs until 12-21 or until supplies last. I know there are cheaper batteries out there, but I haven't gotten as much life out of them as I have from the Duracells.

This could be YMMV, but they had a printed sale tag on the shipper.

I don't speak K-Martian, what's a shipper? (besides every possible English definition of the general word)

In general, you're still paying 50cents per battery. That's twice the amount anyone should pay. Every test of Alkaline batteries has always shown generics to last just about as long as the most expensive national brands. (I'd probably say 90% as long, but is it really worth paying 100% more to get an extra 10% of battery life?)

I like Walgreens brand myself, but the next batch of batts I buy will be Eneloop-style Precharged NiMH.
