cheap Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

or not, this game is going too be limited due too its rating, best too get a copy while you can if your interested, I have a feeling this will be the next gitaroo man in raritiy
Atlus+Rating+Limited =Rare.
exactly, if i was interested in the game I would buy it but it just seems like another the earth is in chaos rpg, maybe it has a new rpg system but it still doesnt impress me, the fact that dante is in it only makes me want too buy it less, if it was 20 or 25 id get it

I had the import of this game, and it is excellent. The world is in chaos, but not quite like it is in every other RPG. The world basically folds in on itself so that everything exists on the inside of the earth. You can also communicate with demons in battle instead of fighting, and they may ask you questions, or demand bribes to either leave you alone or join with you.

Most interestingly of all, you can choose how to rebuild the world (broadly) as either a world of anarchy, law and order, or a couple other philosophies. It also has an interesting background and presents the many deities of the world in interesting ways (including Yehova and Lucifer!)
I wonder Target carry this game ??
If it does, then that's an easy way to get the game for 25 bucks.
Almost all of Altus games become rare after a while. That's why I'm getting SMT: Noturne and not waiting.
Except for Hard Hitter T(p)ennis. :) You can find it anywhere you go.

Sorry off topic.

I'm getting Nocturne anyway.

I doubt it will be rare right off the bat, maybe in a couple years, but not a month or so after release. I'm going to wait for some reviews and about a 30$ price point.

Gitaroo Man was rare??? My local Circuit City had 3 copies of Gitaroo Man for like a year. As soon as the $4.99 sale came, those 3 copies were mysteriously not there anymore...

gitaroo man isnt that rare, i picked up a used copy at my local gamestop for $15.30

as for NOCTURNE, if you preorder it, it comes with the soundtrack. so dont wait, preorder it to get the soundtrack.

Atlus games become rare about 6 months after their release, at which point they tend to show up in clearence sales before they disappear entirely. The soundtrack is nice and all, but i'm not completely sure it's going to be worth buying the game at 50 bucks. If you're hoping the game will become some ultra rare and valuable collector's item in the future that's very unlikely. You'd be better off saving your money and buying the Growlanser Generations Deluxe pack if that's what you're looking for, because I can guarantee once the small quantity of those are sold you'll never see them at any sale.

I doubt they'll let you exchange it. Sales usually only apply to available product. More often than not, that's the idea actually. Stores have to make room for new product during the Christmas season, so they have a clearance sale. They'll move old product and get people in the stores in prep for the holiday season. So I doubt this will go through.

EDIT: I guess it might work actually. I just checked the TRU B2G1 thread, and it's worked for quite a few people. Interesting.

Good luck finding Atlus games at TRU (especially with the B2G1 deal). It'll be gone on the first day let alone if they even bother to order copies of the game.

I've only even seen SMT:N listed for preorder at EBgames.com, GS.com and now Walmart.com. This is one that I probably won't wait for, I'm planning to preorder it once paychecks come in.
Just noticed it got delayed till 10/05/04; not a bad thing, necessarily.

I've seen it listed a couple other places...Target has a listing for it. Also FYE said I could order it the other day (but they don't list it online?). I opted to use my $27 in credit toward a used/mint Metal Slug 3 they had. To be honest I'll probably try to get it 3 or 4 months after it's out and if I can't, then oh well...I have about a 10 month backlog of RPGs to finish already, I dunno if I need more jumping on the pile so to speak.

I hope they will release it in December or January :D.

Every preorder will come with the soundtrack. Also, check the SMT:Nocturne site for a free CD liner and cover courtesy of Atlus due to the shipping delay of the game (it's now 10/5)...

I highly doubt Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne will be rare. At least. not until a yera or two. Megami Tensei is pretty popular in Japan and this is it's official introduction to the U.S. Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne... I've been waiting for a MegaTen game to be released in he U.S. for years!
hell, im buying it first day, i need a new RPG
should go buy star ocean 3. and really all the preorder comes with a soundtrack?.. well i'll go reserve it then today.

yeah, thats on my list, but im waiting for the emminent price drop...ive seen it on ebay for like 32 new...so it will come eventually

I know a guy at Atlus. The company releases every game in limited quantities. That way, very few of their games hit the bargain bins. This way, they always make money. He told me for Cubivore, they only made 5,000 copies! Luckily I got it from a trade on this site.

Hey how exactly does one pronounce the first part of the title anyhow. I was in GS and a guy was talking about it but was pronouncing it in a totally different way than I would.

shin MEH-gah-mee TEN-say

Well, there's no real emphasis on the syllables since there are none in Japanese (not by their standards that is; using a western standard, they emphasize the first syllable of words) but pronouncing Megami like meh-GAH-mee is somewhat off.

I am sold. Went and traded in some old games toward a preorder. I am not really an rpg guy but this really looks cool.
Apparently it's been up for awhile, but I didn't even notice it. Anyhow, any one looking for more info on the game should read IGN's review...

Thanks for the link. I better order another sealed copy for collection before it's gone :)
