k well i need to buy some dvd's since im running low on them?? whats the most reliable and cheapest brand out there???

i have a dual layer burner but i think the dl dvd's are expensive!!

Check your ads for BB and CC. Sometimes there are good deals with MIR. Last time I was able to snag a 25 pack of fujifilm dvd+r discs for $30. The fujifilm dvds work fine for me, I have not used any other brands.

ive seen some cheap ones on newegg...i just wanted to see if anyone else has ordered cheap ones and if they are reliable...

the new egg brand ones that came with my burner have worked great

The Ritek ones seem to be pretty popular on Newegg, and they're cheap too I think. I hear ya though dl disks are way to expensive, I think I'm just gonna wait til the price of those comes down before I pick up a burner (which should be cheaper by then too). BTW what kind of burner do you have and how is it?

The best are Ritek's, specificly, Ritek G04's. You can pick up 100 of them for $50 at newegg.com. They cost a little more but they're the best by far. Price difference is made up a little by not having any coasters or defective discs.

There are two sites that will tell you how good a particular brand is.

If your looking for some junk dvd-r, try shop4tech.com and the sonic media dvd-r they have. Its $15 for 50 or $28 for 100, but its cheap crap. Though its better than the Compusa brand, which is one of -the- worst.

I buy ridata which is ritek as well

but i buy DvD +rw's

Rws are SOOOOOOO nice reuse them forever.

i bought 50 for 35bucks from amazon a few months back.

about to go buy 50 more soon.

for Rw's the price is great and never had a bad disc.

yea now that i think of it i might as well get rw's as well but the thing is id ont think my dvd player and ps2 will read the rw

and ive never really understood the whole +/- r thing. i dont know which one works with my dvd player.

the ones that came with my burner are new egg -r and they worked fine on my dvd player and on my scph3900 ps2

well basically its just 2 different formats.

Just check your dvd player to see if it will read +r/rw -r/rw disc
if it does then you have to hope that your dvd writer will read your blank media that you buy

MY writer at first didnt read my blank dvds Until i made a update to it from the makers site that added the ability to read more types of media/brands of dvds.

I just buy rw's though. and never worry about coasters.
plus its fun to be able to xfer files on dvds.

well ill prob still get a few rw's to transfer flles and test out.....but i think my ps2 will only play dvdr and my dvd player 2

I bought a 100 from Shop4tech, paid about 32 after shipping and tax, about 8 of almost 50 have become coasters, but and this is a big but about 4 of those were because of a program error, it burnt a copy of the movie or at least what the program thought was the movie. The other four can still be used to back up data since I stopped them from finalizing. I give them about a 4 out of 5 for now. Also I bought some of the ones from Fry's when I first built my computer and they arent very good, they are called Great Quality but they scratch easily, and therfore skip during the movie, I give these a 2 1/2 out of 5. Also, on a side note the Dvd-rs, that I bought from Shop4tech.com, play great in my PS2
