Has Cheapy D ever said anything about the slaughter and trafficking of dolphins in Japan? I knew they were a crazy lot after spending only two weeks in Japan but the stuff that goes on in this movie pretty nuts. I am sure equally terrible things happen in the USA but at the moment there isn't a current award winning documentary about it.

Sure, they are all a bunch of environmentalist hippies and the movie is made with a sensationalist spin, but it's pretty nutty stuff.

The Cove is a 2009 documentary film of the purported annual killing of about 2,300 dolphins in a National Park at Taiji, Wakayama, in Japan.[1][2] The film highlights that this is about three times the amount of whales killed in the Antarctic, and claims that 23,000 dolphins and porpoises are killed in Japan every year. The migrating dolphins are herded into a hidden cove where they are netted and killed by means of spears and knives over the side of small fishing boats. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan's most recent progress report 1,569 cetaceans in Taiji were killed during the 2007 season, including methods other than drive hunting. A total of 13,080 cetaceans were killed throughout Japan in 2007. Only 1,239 cetaceans were killed by drive hunting.[3]

I have watched this doc and can say that is must see. Really sad but at the same time, hippie or not, you look at how ignorant a culture can be. Keep in mind that not all people from Japan are on the same page when it comes to the slaughter of dolphins. If I remember, they did show a video of the dolphins being slaughter to Japanese citizens. Half of them were shocked by the video. This was the best documentary I saw by far last year.
 
As a species we humans have no respect for animal life of any kind so its not fair to point out one cultures offenses, especially when you consider people in the U.S. treat there pets worse in some cases. However sad and brutal these killings maybe at least the animals are being used for something and not just killed for sport.

Also, you mention "CheapyD's people", but I fail to see how the Jews are connected to this. Is it those damn bankers again? They're bankrolling the dolphin slaughter aren't they?
 
Now if the Japanese would only slaughter hippies instead...I'd rather have a world safe from hippies, than safe from dolphins, even if it meant giving up dolphin sushi.

"dolphin safe" tuna is worse for the ecology of the ocean than the "non"safe version. The methods used to take the tuna kill alot more endangered species than the usual methods.

The only reason people make a big deal about these rapists (the dolphins, they rape for fun, look it up) is that they're cute, were used as a cute movie character, and they're not cows, tuna, or some other ugly food animal. Also, the necessary methods for slaughtering them do happen to be pretty damn macabre (turning an entire cove blood-red for a few weeks is a bit unsettling for some of you people). However, most of you would be equally disgusted by any animal processing operation.(usually they look worse than the cove).

Frigging hippies should just let us eat the damn dolphins and be done with it.

Also, i hear dolphin is delicious and can't wait to try some (no joke, i'm down for some sashimi even). I just wish it were easier to get states-side.


(however, protecting whales is a good thing, since those giant bastards are dropping like flies).

I could really give 2 shits about the Japanese killing dolphins. Look at America from India's point of view with how many cows we slaughter each year. Its all relative.

Yes. When you are young it is hard to understand things and cope with certain emotional subjects. Once you grow up, you will be able to better understand your thoughts and come to a realization how dumb you were as a kid. In time.

Dolphins have brains as big as humans and they exhibit human behaviors like playing with other dolphins, gang-style activities, homosexuallity, etc...the list goes on. Also the military used dolphins for finding mines and locating lost people.

I know you guys like to joke around about animal rights people- Some of those people are really zany (like PETA members) but I hold dolphins in pretty high regard personally.

Just my 2 cents.

But, it's not cool to like animals. This is Highschool remember?

It's just the people that have a very low understanding on Biology, Anthropology, astronomy ect. that don't respect intelligent species. But then again, rednecks don't value any life but theirs and their sisters/wifes... oh and nascar.

Rednecks don't value their sisters/wives. Given their consumption of moonshine per capita, you can't really argue they value their own lives.
 
Japan is an island, you fish on islands. I'm sure hundreds of years ago when Japan was more isolated from the world fishing/hunting for dolphin & whale was an intergral part of survival. An entire whale could feed a lot of people. Eating it has become part of their culture, and culture is next to impossible to change.

These protesters are arrogant & ignorant.

We have greater problems in America. How about humans killing humans. Americans tend to do that much more than the Japanese, yet we don't have Japanese citizens protesting outside some rednecks house with signs that read "Guns are Bad, they kill people"

I hear that a lot. What does it mean? I've not seen the President come on TV stating our main focus is saving the dolphins. It is just a sub group of people... so are you saying every person should drop any problems that are not about Americans killing one another and focus on that? What would that do? We all know about that problem. A group of people that are trying to prevent what is happening in Japan wont do much for violence in America.
 
I'm just saying there's bigger problems then the Japanese killing Dolphins. I have no world saving answers, nor did I imply I ever did.

So when the Japanese are killing the gay dolphins what they're really doing is committing a hate crime?
