I've been looking at service plans all day. I'm sick of it. I know it depends on your area, but is there an easier way. Cable or DSL? Pay as you go, or Monthly? I am so lost and so confused.
It always depends on your habits.

What do you want to do and where do you want to do it?
You know what I want to do ;)

Hmm, that's a hard question to ask. I've actually never owned a cell-phone before and am only getting one because my Grandma wishes me to have one, encase of emergency's (we had our first flat tire and had no phone). I've always TXT message my friends from my Gmail account, using their built in SMS feature. I always thought of Skype as an option, but then if I had a flat and was stranded in the middle of nowhere, Skype would not help me.

I don't need Internet on my phone. That's just stupid. Texting, Pictures and very infrequent talking (who talks on cellphones? :p). I have no desire to play low-budget games on my phone or try to listen to music on it.

It's too see if there are cheaper alternatives to your current plan, but you can just use the search criteria and enter what you are looking for.
Thanks, I'll give it a look. Everybody seems to recommend Cricket, because it is just SO cheap, but I gave it a look and it seems to be around the same price as everybody else.

Oh, I totally forgot about the Internet. The Apartment I'll be moving into offers free Wi-Fi near their pool area, so I might just purchase a high-end antenna and leech off of that. It's not illegal since I already asked them and they gave me the WEP key. This is what I'll probably be going with -> LINK

You may (obviously) want a cell phone for other emergencies, but you really shouldn't need one for a flat tire. Get out there and learn to change it yourself! ;)

Well, I know how to now. The Police Officer and I had to put our heads together to figure it out. The hardest part was getting the jack out of the car.

lol, I had a hard time getting my jack out too the first time when I had my first flat. It literally took a good half an hour before I figured that you had to uncrank it (is that even the correct term?) before it can come out of its storage place.

Anyway, if you don't plan on talking much, just text, and have no need for the internet on the phone. Have you considered a "pay n go" phone where you just buy minutes on a phone card?

I think you're pretty screwed if you want soming that fits your habits. They really generalize everyone now... Maybe Metro PCS... ?

That's what she said. Couldn't resist. lol

Well, I just ordered my first ever cell-phone. It's a Samsung JetSet. I went with Cricket and I pay $25/Month for Unlimited Everything. I even got my first month free. So all I payed for right now was the actual phone, which cost $138.76. I think that is so outrageous. I could have gotten an awesome iPhone for $99, but it's only for ATT. I think I did pretty good. I await comments that will eventually lead to buyers remorse.

Seems like you're crawling into your first cell phone which is good. I feel that you don't need a smartphone, like the iPhone, if you think the internet on your phone is stupid. With phones the internet isn't just a web browser though. It's all data which can include multiplayer games, email, and streaming media.

Judging from what you want to do with a cell phone you may want to check out Sprint's Texting plan. It's more costly than your current plan, but it might be better suited to your needs.

I've been with Sprint for a little while now. There isn't any good cell phone company I've experienced yet, but Sprint has been the best setup for me so far and their service here is just ok to get the job done... Anyway, my plan is pretty old since they don't offer it anymore, but not too long ago I was able to get them to give me some "perks" after I threatened to leave. I only have 200 anytime min. but, I was able to get unlimited txting for free. Also, some other minor stuff so my bill comes out to about $32 a mo. (After all the fake fucking "taxes".). I won't be going any where since no one can get anywhere remotely close to this...
