Totally Olbermann.

If you think Chris Matthews is a member of the "lib'rul media," then there's no salvation for your intellectual deprivation. He's one of those guys who I only respect as a journalist because *everyone*, myself included, hates his fuckin' guts.

Bobby Jindal looks and talks like Kenneth from 30 Rock.

And, yes, of course, Olbermann behaving like Olbermann proves that there's no bias out there as bad as MSNBC's.

It's all over youtube, and many people say it's Chris Mathews. Fox and friends in the morning think it was Olberman. Nobody really knows. Not that it matters.

True colors anyone?

Not that anyone didn't already know MSNBC was the most biased cable news network. If you didn't, you should.
Funny you say that, I was talking to a Republican congressman staffer the other day and she was pretty open about how Fox news is full of shit but her boss likes it because he's invited to talk on their morning show. Her office watches MSNBC throughout the day, politically it's the most informative cable show out there (although you will have to give up the talking dogs and waterskiing squirrels on Fox and Friends).

Now their evening programming is pretty biased, but at that point they're competing with the Daily Show, Bill O, Glenn Beck, Nancy "will someone think of the children" Grace, etc. Really, you're better off watching Charlie Rose or one of those CNBC mini-documentaries in that timeslot. Or just firing up some beers and Warcraft 3

I love that story that Jindal talked about in his speech.

"Let me tell you a story.

During Katrina, I visited Sheriff Harry Lee, a Democrat and a good friend of mine. When I walked into his makeshift office, I'd never seen him so angry. He was yelling into the phone: "Well, I'm the Sheriff and if you don't like it you can come and arrest me!" I asked him: "Sheriff, what's got you so mad?" He told me that he had put out a call for volunteers to come with their boats to rescue people who were trapped on their rooftops by the floodwaters. The boats were all lined up ready to go, when some bureaucrat showed up and told them they couldn't go out on the water unless they had proof of insurance and registration. I told him, "Sheriff, that's ridiculous." And before I knew it, he was yelling into the phone: "Congressman Jindal is here, and he says you can come and arrest him too!" Harry just told the boaters to ignore the bureaucrats and go start rescuing people.

There is a lesson in this experience: The strength of America is not found in our government."

The funny thing he forgot the mention was the bureaucrats was part of the Bush adminstration.

How did the governor of one of the most fantastically god awful states in the union become the Republican standard bearer? How did we get here again?

Why are we making this about Palin? Oh, wait ...

Haha, right on the money! :applause::lol:

I also thought it was Olbermann. It's something he would say, given how he feels about most things Republican. ;)

I think it was just a reaction to the grimace on Jindal's face.

I don't think you quite understood his point.

hahahah

Fixed news is just as bad.

1. its msnbc.
2. this isnt the first time somebody has said something stupid and its slipped by.
3. myke is right about jindal looking like kenneth

just listened to Jindal's entire speech. i'm sorry, i thought i would have liked him better, but he acts and talks like a tool.

I like Jindal.. his delivery of that speech was terrible but the speech was very well written. I want 8 years of Obama, but out of the talked-about Republicans I'd like to see Jindal as the R nomination in 2012.

I like him because he does sound kenneth...thank you myke! I was watching the speech and the whole times thinking he smiles and sounds like someone, but I couldn't figure it out.

Who cares if someone said "oh god" it could've been a production crew member. We all let our personal feelings slip out during work in front of customers.

"is that new pizza any good"
"Oh god no....I mean its different"
My wife and I thought the same thing when Piyush, walked to the camera's. He just looked so akward.
ha yeah I think the reaction was to the fact he looked like a troll doll with a haircut.

lol... sadly true

He seemed really out of place to me, i don't wtf was with him walking up to the camera. I was expecting him to say "Oh hi, didn't see you there America."

First of all, how you already know you want 8 years out of someone that's only been in office for 1 month is beyond me, unless your love for listening to his speeches overrides any action.

Secondly, I mostly agree with you. He seems like a nice guy. He's too new on the scene for me to be able to say I'd want to see him run for president. Sadly, he pales in comparison to Obama when it comes to the grand lord and master of speeches himself, Obama (Who I admit was giving me tingles without even really paying attention to what he was saying last night).

It is quite a contrast to watching the Obama speech, to poor Jindal's. He didn't have hundreds of true-believers ready to clap every 12 seconds while he talked, yet he kind of delivered his speech like he was expecting it.

What about the fact that he talks to the American public like they are 8 year olds?

This is Jindal's Dukakis-tank moment, certainly... among the Republicans looking at 2012, Jindal was (is) leaps and bounds more competent, accomplished & honorable than his peers.. I hate a political machine in which awkward body language trumps those great traits..

Human nature trumps those traits. You have to be able to control your body language to be a good speaker. You want people to be listening to your words, not watching for body cues.

He's saying "Oh god" about how the Howdy Doody cheesedick walks up to the mic like he's Mrs. Rogers (do a side by side comparision, it's the exact same limp arms and shit eating grin, all he's missing is the traditional awkward clothing change), followed by a speach in a tone as if he was delivering it to Mr. Rogers' target audience. This douche is a clear desperate attempt by the Republicans to have their own Obama-style action figure. Their coolest young cat that all the kids are, like, totally BONZO for!

He's not a republican version of Obama for one main reason. Jindal has actually accomplished something.

Thats for sure. I never knew thats what Kenneth looked like without makeup on. He's a hell of an actor.
Oh nos! MSNBC has a liberal bias! As opposed to Fox, who would NEVER slant one way or the other.
The difference is, one is in far more denial about their slant.
Obviously.
I'm surprised you hate MSNBC so much. The morning show puts conservative megalomaniac Joe Scarborough front and center. On the other side of the day Olbermann was the only one willing to talk seriously about 9/11 and post-9/11 theories (this is cable news we're talking about). I thought that would warm the heart of a conspiracy theory enthusiast like yourself.

Does Thrust actually believe in 9/11 conspiracy theories? I didn't think he was that bad.. that's more level1 territory, isn't it?

I'll let the man speak for himself.

But you don't have to be as hardcore as level1 to have a healthy skepticism of government motives or the danger to Democracy posed by the iron triangle. The chief issue I had with level1 is that he blindly followed Alex Jones, which at the end of the day is no better then the dittoheads, mega-church Evangelists or fundies of all stripes.

It takes a pretty special brand of stupid to watch (on live television) jet airplanes crash into buildings, then when they collapse, stop and think "Ok... now what REALLY happened here?"

I don't hate MSNBC persay. I hate the fact that it's so trendy to pick on foxnews as somehow being the most slanted source of news, when it's clearly not. MSNBC is at least as bad, along with others. It's just trendy and cool to pick on them, and MSNBC (and especially NBC) happens to slant in a way that's more popular with the internet crowds, that's all.

They are both slanted, they are both more entertainment than news sources. In fact, I don't really believe in a "best news source" other than first person experience.

I've never been into 9/11 conspiracies. Awhile ago I did do some research on it, because I was bored. I concluded that the official report was very fishy and full of eyebrow raising holes; which is par for the course with almost any official government report - they are the opposite of independent. But that doesn't mean it was an inside job, nor does it necessarily mean anything. I certainly don't believe Bush headed up some type of secret cabal to perform 9/11 to beat the drums of war. It just means I believe there is likely more to the story than we are told.

But, unfortunately, you really can't do much research past that, because pretty much everyone willing to discuss it loves to jump to conclusions - which is exactly what I hate about 9/11 conspiracy theorists.

I read the government's report on Building 7. That was an amazing piece of fiction.
