So i got Ratchet and clank future for the PS3 for christmas and I just got around to opening it (between dlc and steam deals I have had alot on my gaming plate). So I opened it and guess what I found, no game disc and the instruction manual for nba 2k7, this was a sealed game, not shrink wrapped, sealed with the adhesive plastic as it would be from the factory. So some one else bought this for me and I am going to contact them and I am pretty sure that it was bought at walmart. So i am going in tomorrow to try and get the game. Ill let you guys know how it goes, I recall several similar stories but dont recall their outcomes. Wish me luck.

UPDATE:
Went in today and tried to get a replacement, I got a no go. It was because I didnt have the receipt with me, my father bought it for me but lives out of town so he is gonna mail the receipt to me. The customer service rep said if they had the recipt they could do something. Ill keep you guys posted.

Update:
Got the reciept today in the mail and I went down to my local walmart. They actually put up no hassle with me and told me to go get another copy to exchange. I went to the back and they didnt have the game.....and according to the systems they didnt carry it any longer. Well at this point I was thinking the worst, they offered store credit for another game, I said that I wanted the game I was given and they gave me cash. So i went to game stop and picked it up for 5.00 less. My......god...... a happy ending!

Where did the game come from? Walmart's return policy is very lenient. Idk, that's a crappy situation. It just sucks that some people are so shady. It's a wonder they even bother putting a booklet in it. Just leave it empty or put some cardboard in it or something with a blank CD in the case.

Anyway, good luck and keep us posted.

I had this happen to me at Walmart in Rancho Cordova, CA 8 years ago. I bought a brand new, still in shrink wrap Guilty Gear for the PS2 and when I opened it, a burned copy of Crazytown was inside. It was definitely made from home because the label was just done by a sharpe. Pretty upset, 1 - because I was ripped off and 2 - how do I explain this to Walmart for an exchange?

I brought it back to Walmart customer service the same day and after 15 minutes of explaining, the manager came out and agreed to exchange it for the same game. This time, I had the customer service rep open my game to make sure it was the real game.

Suggest you explain everything and get the manager on duty to help resolve it. Good luck bro!

You have to consider the crooks that go into Walmart buy a game, remove the game and return a case with a blank disc or no disc at all. You might have been unfortunate enough to receive one of these copies. However, there should be no problem returning or exchanging it.

No one can tell you, just tell them what happened at the store, tell them you don't want a refund, you just want a copy of that game etc and cross your fingers.

Or the crook actually works in the store. When my husband worked for TRU, there was a group of people that worked in the electronics/video games department
that were fired for this. One of them had a shrink wrapping device they smuggled in, they would open games, replace the discs, then switch them out at the store itself.

Must have been pretty clever to actually re-seal the thing so it looked brand new again. My guess is it was an employee.

or gamestop is getting more devious........oh its good to laugh at stuff.
if they won't give you an exchange break the glass and spit all over the video games, that'll show em.
Or head over to the magazine rack...

doesn't work at wal mart because the rack is actually a bolted down shelf.

you should jizz all over the cash register too on your way out, good luck op

Gum up the works eh, i like the way you think, whos on the enquirer this week, need material

Lol! Oh my god I would be so upset and probably be pissed at the person who gave me the gift thinking they pranked me or something. That's just so hilarious, of all games: NBA 2K7 ! Wow good luck in getting the real game!

Whoa. Wal*Mart gave cash back AND someone actually found a deal at Gamestop!?!?!?!? Maybe the 'end of days' is coming sooner than 2012, since both are rare occurences.

Good job though, OP. You stuck to your guns and it worked out in your favor.
