I'm interested in getting Final Fantasy Chronicles (CT) and Final Fantasy Anthology (FFVI) for the PS1, but the load times may discourage me from playing them, as compared to no load times on the future Virtual Console for the Wii. Are they really that long? And what is the average play time for CT and FFVI?
Another random question, about how long does it take to beat FFX?

Average Playtime for CT: 20-25 hours.

It's my favorite game ever though, I HIGHLY recommend it.

FF6... maybe 30 hours? I haven't played it in a while.

Also, yes, the load times WILL discourage you in Chrono Trigger. They're absurd.

If you don't use emulators for legal reasons, maybe you'd like to buy the game on PSX then use an emulator, since you would legaly own it.

What is that (an option)?

It's in the system settings when you boot up the ps2. You can also turn on better textures.

It is true, the loading times in CT are murder. I'm playing it right now actually. The thing is, after you've been playing for 1-2 hours straight, your mind drift away from that.

Give it a shot anyways, CT is a fantastic game, probably my all time favorite.

FFVI took me about 40 hours on the first time through. Since then its down to about 20 to 25 on any given attempt. As for FFX, that really depends on if you are just attempting to finish the game or going for completeness. I spent about 80 hours in total, mostly trying to beat extra stuff like monster collecting before I beat the game.

Of course there are other methods. FF6 is coming to GBA later on this year and you can put the psx CT on your pc and run it under an SNES emulator to play the SNEs original (in Japanese though).
