Well, I got up and headed out for CC in skokie, IL all excited to snag some cheapass games or maybe even a ps2 only to find that they didn't have anything. no games, systems, or accessories. all they had was a DS and GBA on display that I harassed about 4 employees about(before I finally got the answer that those displays belong to Nintendo.) it was mostly just TVs, stereos and computers. hopefully one of these days I'll score on a good sale...

did anyone have any luck at other CC close outs?

IIRC the close-outs are for display items only...I wouldn't bank too much on the chance of getting anything sealed like videogames.

No there aren't any games. I talked with my cousin that works at a CC that isn't closing and found out that the other CCs around my area that weren't closing got all of the merchandise from the stores that are closing. So, you will be hard pressed to find any gaming devices let alone games at the closing locations.
Yeah, I mean why would they bother to liquidate the stock? Much easier to just send it to other CCs in the area.
that's what I figured. since they weren't closing all of their stores, they would just sell they don't want anymore.

Just display items... It was a joke... they had tvs, computers, and stereo equipment. They are selling it at open box prices!!! Like $100 off of a 2,000 tv. You would have to be stupid to pay that much for a display item.

The only time I'd expect to see inventory liquidated is if the whole chain of stores were going under, or it's inventory that isn't easy to move to another store.

Would've been nice if it was something rather good. :(
