Cleaning Tips for NES

Hello, I am a veteran gamer, yet new to this forum. Feel free to come to me for NES repair tips, and soon to be SNES tips, as I am about to take apart my SNES and clean it (though it still works, but the picture is none too clear). I also have an answer to the most common problem for the NES. That's the dreaded 72 connector. Even though many sites will tell you that you can't clean it, it is quite possible. Like I said, feel free.

P.S. I am looking for more guides as to how you clean the 72 connector. I am planning to publish a book about it in a few years. Hyperlinks will be appreciated! I'd do it myself, but all my search engines turn up is replacing it, which is as much of a waste of money as the cleaning kit. YOUR NES IS NOT DIRTY, DAMMIT!!!! That is, unless your pins are split and shredded.

When it comes to cleaning games with a pin board (nes, snes, genny, etc)

Take a q-tip, dip one side in rubbing alcohol, rub each side of the pins with the wet end then switch and rub with the dry end.

As for the 72 pin connector, do the same, just take off the NES cover. However, if the pins are too spread apart, that won't matter.
