Collection Discussion

I've finally finished typing up the names of all of my console games and wanted some input from you guys. If you want to recommend a game to me that's missing from my list feel free to do so. Also, I'd love to chat about any of my games. All of the games in this list are awesome games, I don't keep games that I don't like. So if you see any of these games in a yard sale for a buck, pick 'em up! I'll be working on getting pictures of them up ASAP. P.S. If anyone out there has experience with pricing collections I'd be curious to see what mine is worth. Thanks! Here we go:

I can make at least one reccomendation for your N64 collection: Jet Force Gemini. No N64 collection is complete without it.

Why don't you use IGN? Not only do you not have to type it up, it'll give you an estimated value of your collection (though who knows how they calculate that...).

So far on my "to buy" list for my N64 I have:

Banjo-Tooie
Bomberman 64
Diddy Kong Racing
Donkey Kong 64
Jet Force Gemini (thanks to the recommendation)

Edit (Just saw Judy's post): IGN's system is too... Funky for me, plus their value system doesn't work for classic games. I'd rather hear an estimate from someone who knows what they're talking about than from a database that hasn't been updated for years.

if you're into racing games Ridge Racer 64 is a pretty damn good game although it does get a little frustrating

i've been collecting nes games ever since i found out my mom gave away my old collection. I'm still crying about it. Anyways, i'm up to over 60 games. I found a copy of stack-up today, and if it didnt look so crappy i would have grabbed it(its rare nes game becuase its 1 of 2 games made for rob the robot). I'm about to type up my list. I might do it tommorrow, i've been putting it off for too long. If you have any nes games you are looking for you should post them up.

Use IGN or Gamespot's collection feature. I personally prefer Gamespot's (See link in my sig). Either way, you'll have a relatively permanent record of your collection, with an estimated value, that you can sort, add, remove and search as you please, not to mention the wishlist functions.

To both of you "max" guys, I can't wait to get my hands on Dragon Warrior 2 and 3. I've played through 1 but when I started up 4 it just felt... wrong. I'd already have them but the only store nearby that has them wants $45 a piece SHEESH! I told 'em, $25 for 2 and $30 for 3 and you got a deal but they're suuuure that someone's gonna pay $45... Also, for the expensive SNES titles (FF3, Chrono Trigger, and Earthbound) I'm sort of waiting for a miracle sale or something to get my hands on those. The asking price at any dealer is way to expensive so I'm just going to keep my eyes open. Yoshi's Story is a great game but it isn't at the top of my list so I'll get around to it. As for the Castlevania games, those are easy as pie to find in a yardsale so I'll just hold my horses.

I'll have them all eventually though.

You should buy Harvest Moon: Back to Nature (PSX) and Harvest Moon 64 (N64).

i know i picked up chrono trigger for the ps1 with ff something, it was a 2 disc set
but i paid 14 bucks used for two good games

first off you need to get Star Tropics 1&2 and Rescue: the embassy mission for NES. Wakeboarding unleashed for Xbox is awsome too. I could name like 50 PSX games too

Here's the latest goings on with my collection. I went out to my local blockbuster and another local video store (the one I work at...) and bought the following games for a total of $25:

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine
Ms. Pac Man Maze Madness
Mario Golf
Vigilante 8 2nd Offense
Spiderman
Beetle Adventure Racing

The only game above I'm going to keep is Mario Golf. The others I don't particularly like but have high trade values at my local trading store (McVan's Video Games). Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to hit them up for the games I mentioned earlier on N64. I don't think they have Banjo-Tooie but I should be able to get the rest with no problem and maybe another, who knows.

Back to current forum events, I'll probably get Harvest Moon 64 eventually but McVan's wants $45 for it (I believe) which I'm not going to fork out willingly. Also, I remember you recommending me the Star Tropics games in an earlier topic where I asked about good NES RPGs. I've been looking around for them but the only place I can find them is at McVan's and they want $12 a piece. No way! Lastly I'm not much into PSX games other than the Final Fantasy series and I don't like buying games that were re-released on later systems such as the Mega Man collection which is why I have all 6 NES games. You can post your recommended games if you like but (nothing against you...) I'll most likely not take them much into consideration.

if you haven't played BM 64 it isn't as good as previous versions (SNES super bomberman or DC bomberman) and i didn't like DK 64.. it just didn't feel right.

i'd just use IGN.. i just hate how you can't just search systems and then just add titles from there and then have like a bunch of crap to go through.

nice collection.. and about finding Chrono Trigger..

I got one from this board along with SM RPG and Secret of mana for 60 bucks (and a 10 dollar Sonic the hedgehog collection).. yeah they were all cart only but geez.. those games are the best the system had to offer.

laterz

you don't have to be an "insider" member to have a collection at IGN.. just a message board member.. so its a free registration and you can have a very nice and clean collection page.
