So a group of ex-2K Sports and ex-EA Sports developers are getting together to make an officially licensed NCAA Football game in time for the start of the 2014 NCAA football season:

Definitely putting down the $20 for this, as I am dead tired of EA football games this generation.

They're $989,000 away from the $1 million goal with 11 days left. I think it's a safe bet to say they're not going to make it.

You never know.

Many people thought games like Road Redemption and Gridiron Heroes would fail, but both exceeded their targets in the final days.

Plus this game has gotten zero press so far due to Xbox One reveal.

We'll see if donations pick up once word of mouth starts spreading.

Love the idea. Not pumped about this particular project though.

The fact that I hadn't heard of this until now shows how bad they've been with PR and getting the word out about it. The other concerning fact is that the campaign was set for less than one month, which is less than the normal 30 days, and they're asking for so much money. They would've needed to catch some fire at the start to really have a chance now, but they're likely going to miss by a wide margin at this point.
