Too bad some colleges use specfic cable that can only be used with their network and lots of things like Xbox Live can either be a major pain in the ass to get working or don't work at all. Oh yeah and usually, it's free at least the original cable they give you is.

you bought cable from a dorm? like in somebody's room?
why not just wander into a computer lab and grab a spool of cable that no doubt would be just lying around. as posted $0 should be the going rate.
