I still need to pick up part 4.... Ever since I found out the battle system is a joke in part 3 I just lost interest...

You have to totally babysit the ai or else they get them selves killed on the spot. Unless you're 2-3 levels higher than the monster, the AI will probably die almost instantly.

Yes do it, I bought all 4 of them new and never regretted it. The come with the anime OVA dvds as well (.hack//liminality). Great series and fun games.
