Hey guys,
I'm sorry I'm such a newbie with computer hardware stuff, but I have some questions.
I like Ubuntu, but I
ed up my XP stuff partioning so now its all I got. A relative knows what he is doing with computers, so he might be able to fix it, but I would almost guarantee I ed it up badly enough that it won't be saved.
So now, I'm left with a messed up hard drive and Linux Ubuntu. I wouldn't mind Linux if it supported Itunes, but it doesn't, so my ipod touch is messed (well not really).
Basically, I want to either:
1) Get rid (format) this hard drive and replace it with a 500 GIG hard drive and install XP or Vista
2) Get 500 GIG Harddrive (or smaller one) and dual boot Ubuntu and Vista/XP
To be honest I'd rather go with number 1, just because I have no interest in keeping Ubuntu, and I might not need to buy a 500 GIG Hard Drive if I go with option 1.
So, questions:
1) How do I format a harddrive? Could a n00b do it? I'm sure my relative can do it no problem if I can't...
2) XP or Vista? I'm pretty sure that I'm done with Ubuntu, and I'm pretty sure I still have the XP disc, so should I go with XP? Or has Vista improved? I heard Vista is awful, has it improved by any chance?
Ummm....thats about it. If you have any advice with what I should do, just let me know.
Basically, I want to un-destroy my harddrive (if possible) and reinstall a Windows OS. If not, I want to buy a new harddrive and install a Windows OS.
And I have a Dell XPS 600. Would this harddrive (link below) work with my computer?
