Confusion on Club Nintendo's shorter post play times

Wolfpup

CAGiversary!
I thought there was a thread for this, but I don't see it...

Anyway, I had thought that Nintendo was shortening the time you had to do the post play survey from years to 7 days. Obviously that's crazy lame, because it basically means you HAVE to register it AFTER you've finished the game.

But...Excitebike 3D, that Pokedex thing, and Wii Zelda all had their post-play things months out...not years, but it was like October and November, which is a lot more reasonable.

Although...I kind of thought I already did the Zelda post-play. Maybe not... And the 3DS freebees are a unique case, so I'm still not clear on how long you get...hopefully it's months for everything!

They did it so people won't say they'll buy a game and then not do it. It was discussed back in March in the Club Nintendo thread.

I get the feeling Wolfpup thinks the police will come after him if he removes the little tags on pillows.

Well, that was a short thread.

Post play surveys are still available for 120 days. The 7 day window is for the product registration survey, the first survey you do when you register the game. So this only affects people who were planning on registering their games and not completing the initial surveys until a much later date. As long as you do the initial survey when you register your games, as I assume most people do, there's nothing to worry about.

Oh...okay, so there's a 7 day window on the INITIAL survey...that's okay. I didn't even know you could put that off, I always just do it when I punch in the code. That makes sense I guess.

You used to have years to do the post play survey though, I mean as of last month. 3 months is still decent though at least, but it often takes me years to get around to a game I buy, so I still can't really register them.
How long after registration does it take for the post play survey to show up?
I *think* it's 7 days. That was especially confusing when I thought they wouldn't show up for 7 days, and then you'd only have 7 days after that to finish the post play survey! :D

Thankfully it's not AS bad as I thought!
