OK, my son has inspired me to have another contest. Here is the deal. If you can figure out the origin of my son's name, complete with nationality, the correct spelling, and the meaning you get the game of your choice. The only restriction is that I must be able to get it at a major national retailer or online for $50 or less, new or used. You pick the game and condition.

I will give hints, but with every hint I give after today, the price of qualifiying games goes down by $5. So, if I give 2 hints after today, the game you can pick has to be $40 or lower.

Now, I have enjoyed my time here at CAG and since I am giving away a $50 game (potentially) I have a couple more restrictions. This is a contest for the community. Therefore, you must be a contributing member of this site. By that I mean you must be a) a member of CAG for at least 3 months and b) have a post count of at least 200. That is a little over 2 per day. I am not trying to be a prick to the newbs. If it were a $20 game, I wouldn't care. If no one can figure it out after a while, I will change the contest and it'll likely be open to all.

OK, on to the contest. My son's name is Jaysic (pronounced "Jay-Sick").

HINT #1: We americanized the spelling.

**Hints will be posted here every 2 days starting Monday afternoon and may vary in quality.

Good luck! :D

From the name Jacek which is derived from Jacenty, which is:

"Polish form of HYACINTH. Saint Jacenty was a 13th-century Dominican monk from Krakow who was said to have taken missionary journeys throughout northern Europe and Asia."

EDIT:
"From the Greek name Hyakinthos, which was derived from the name of the Hyacinth flower. In Greek legend Hyakinthos was accidentally killed by Apollo, who caused the lily to arise from his blood. This name can also be given in direct reference to the flower (or the precious stone which also bears this name), in which case it is generally feminine."

I hope that wasn't it because that was the first name I found. The contest would be over before it started. :)

I know I dont' have that many posts, but if I somehow win, could you just buy me this $16.99 Hat off a website? I can give you a link and all that.

Thanks.

OK....this is a tough one. dental's answer was dead on, but was missing one small part, which Veggie filled in later. I can't help but think Follandboy just copied Veggie's answer in an attempt to capitalize on the fact that Veggie isn't technically eligible (sorry Follandboy......). I am inclined to reward both dental and Veggie. I'll be in touch with you both shortly.....for now, I am off for a date with my wife. ;)

Thanks everyone for playing and this contest is officially over. Congrats guys!! Mods, feel free to lock it or do whatever you hearts desire.
