Crysis BETA OPEN to public
Just wanted to let you guys know that it is open to the public now. So what are you waiting for?
A new computer..

Thanks alot! I wanted this one pretty damn bad! Got to see how this runs on my PC :D it was one of the main reasons I upgraded

Crysis makes my computer feel like its a Atari 2600.

Next time I build or buy my next computer I'm definitely getting this. Although I heard this downscales well.

The spots filled up.

don't worry guys, you're not missing out on much. Unless you're a fan of playing games with lots of glitches...seriously, I can't believe this game is coming out next month. It must be an older build?? Also, the Ultra High settings are locked, you can only play on High, which is not much better than a 360 game.

Can someone post the specs? I thought the minimum was reasonable? Either way, this game would rape my video card.
which is not much better than a 360 game.
I love halo as much as the next guy, but the fact that you can use the mouse and KB in an FPS makes it better than any 360 fps in multiplayer ;). And as for the graphics, maybe if you don't have a DX10 card.......

'kay, I'm talking about graphics, not gameplay.

I have a dx10 card, but not vista. in any case, I don't think dx10 is supported in the beta either.

Some screenshots some guy posted on imageshack:

here's some motion blur in action:

the explosions are bad ass. Wish I could get a cap of a nuke explosion:

and a waterfall:

said guy is running it on this and getting 25-30fps (this beta is not very well optimized..people with better set ups were getting worse results??)

--8800gts 640mb
--Core 2 Duo e6750
--2gb ram

Performance is far from optimized, that's why it's called a beta :).
But at it's current state it is quite buggy. When you have a gunner in the boat his arms flutter abound. I tried it on High settings and 1280x720 (doubt I can get up to 1920x1080) and the DX10 effects are there. Looks really sweet :).

But yeah gonna dabble in the beta a little bit but not too much since it's so buggy. Either way QUAKE WARS is finally out today! wooo

I thought the beta was just for network stress and that the game was actually finished. I don't remember where I read that. I guess its obviously false, considering all the weird shit I've seen happen. Seriously, like where to even begin reporting bugs? "Any time I do anything, something bad happens. replicated numerous times."

yeah, but at least it validates the need for the beta test. It's no wonder they delayed the demo. But i'm mainly going to play Crysis for the single player and if the multiplayer is good that's always a bonus. But i'm all about Quake wars for the multiplayer
This has effectively killed my laptop. I hope they realize they have a lot of optimization left to do...lol
crysis on a laptop? lols...

but yes they do have alot of optimization. However who knows if that will ever come. They said they built this game for future hardware

I have a:
P4 3.6GHz Dual Core Processor
Nvidia 7600GT OCed
2GB of RAM.

I had to play with all settings on Low and at the lowest resolution and it still got jumpy when there were big firefights.

Also with it on Low it looks worse then Far Cry.

Well, my laptop has an Intel Core Duo Processor running just over 4 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, a 7600GO, and Vista 64-bit. If you ask me, that's a pretty damn good laptop.

Running the demo on my X800XL will give some graphical glitches whenever I spawn. The glitches go away after 5 seconds or so. I ran the game at 800x600 with everything on low and is smooth, but the game looks like a 2001 game at that resolution :) I couldn't connect to many servers, so I'll give it another go today.

I got the same problem with my 7600GT.

jeez! that's better than my desktop, minus the graphics card.

you'd think the game would run like butter on something like that..but no, it runs like runny poo.

That's what makes me mad. Especially since I can't upgrade the video card on a laptop. :(
im getting some massive glitching... the game is unplayable
I know I tried playing a second ago and all the textures were messed up and the audio wasn't working.

4ghz in a laptop? I doubt it. What processor do you have?
4ghz in a laptop? I doubt it. What processor do you have?
As I said, Intel Core Duo which combined for 4GHz total (Just checked and it was 3.96). The laptop cost me $3000 for a reason. But I guess people like to argue.

Just cause you have 2 cores doesn't mean you can combine them to come up with a 4 GHZ processor, that's not how it works.

The fastest mobile Core 2 Duo CPU Intel makes is around 2.8 Ghz. The Core Duo processors topped out at 2.33 Ghz.

haha, oh i see now. I have a 5.3 ghz processor in that case? nah.

1 core =/= 1 processor

Sure, for all 5 minutes the battery lasts. lol
I have a 6.4GHz then lol.
My home computer is 10.4 then! Take that with your weak ass 6.4 gzh processor. lol

Sorry I'm not computer savvy as there are better things to know as in real work... My bad for the mistake, but you guys sure seem to have fun being assholes. Quite impressive coming from people who say "lolz".
