Culdcept - Used for $5.99 @ EB (YMMV)

CAGiversary!
I was at EBGames today in Renton, WA and saw a mint used copy of Culdcept (PS2) for $5.99. Now, YMMV but normally their used prices are standard and this is a pretty hard to find game (I love it).
Again, just thought I would let folks know.

I picked it up when it was $2.99 new. Great game. Good for 4 people. It's like a mix of monopoly and magic the gathering.

It is one of my favorite games of all time. I picked it up for 30 once and it is well worth it. I'm addicted to it. In japan it is a craze as big as Pokemon but Stateside it is only a ubergeeks obsession. Oh well!

Was probably a new copy. We used to get them shipped to our stores sealed with preplayed price tags. We gutted 'em and put 'em on the shelf. I don't think we had any traded in, they all came in new.

As long as you like games that can be slow and confusing, then I highly recommend it. Personally I love the game, but I can't imagine the "high action" crowd digging it.

I think mine was the same way. I bought back when it was $7.99, it still had the top label on it, but sliced open.

Which doesn't make any sense, because I was looking for this game around the time that it first came out and none of my local EB's ever got it in. At all. The manager at the main store I go to said that they had the pre-release display box up, but she finally took that down and they never actually got the game in. I had to resort to going to Gamestop in the mall to get it.

So now EB is selling their new copies for dirt cheap, when they could have sold one to me for full price. Insane.

Anyway, yes, anyone who doesn't have this game and is up for something different should definitely give it a try. One of my favorite games this gen, and one of the few that my friends and I *still* play whenever they come over.
