I ordered a Fierce Diety Link statue from them litterally 2 years ago along with the other Zelda statues that First4Figures is releasing/has released.

They were holding it and going to ship all the statues together but for some reason emailed me a few weeks ago asking if I'd like it shipped now at no additional cost.

Of course I jumped at it since I've been wanting this thing forever. I finally get it in the mail and the head is snapped off and the paint around the arms and head are chipped from the broken head. Not only that but the certificate of authenticity was missing. The box it was FedEx'd to me in was perfect so the statue was obviously broken when they had gotten it and they still shipped it to me. I'm thinking that because it was sitting in their warehouse so long it was probably a returned one that someone shipped back and jacked the certificate.

I emailed PlayAsia along with pictures asking for some compensation or another statue. They can't replace it since there were only 2500 statues made in the first place so they asked me to try to glue it back together(I'm serious). I tried and failed to glue it back together so they offerred me $30 in store credit for my problem.

I don't even want the damn statue because it's broken and can't even be authenticicated without the certificate so I asked for a full refund in addition to the credit.

I just got an email back from them this morning telling me that I'd have to ship it back on my dime and they only thing they would do is refund me the purchase price. So I'm looking at spending what, $60 to send this broken statue back to China so they can refund me $100 that I paid for it?

I'm so furious right now I don't know what to do, anyone else ever get royally screwed like this from PlayAsia?

Well, I would try and ship it back, it shouldn't cost you $60 to ship it if you send it the cheapest way vis USPS (don't ship via UPS or FedEx as they will jack up the costs). I've sent things to my friends in Hong Kong and Mainland China before and for an average sized package it shouldn't run you more than $15 (unless it is really big, I'm not sure on the size of this statue).

Good Luck.

If it's going to be a big pain in the ass to ship it back I might just take some store credit out of the hassle, keep the statue, and sell it on eBay broken.

It just pisses me off that I'm having all this hassle and I shouldn't have to deal with it since it's their fault I got a broken statue in the first place.

I found another place that has them in stock online so fingers crossed I actually end up with a statue that's not trashed. :/

EDIT: Got another reply from them. The best they will offer is a refund of the purchase price if I ship it back on my own dime which is going to be pretty much the same amount of credit as if I keep the statue and take the credit from them since USPS says it will cost about $40 to ship it back.

The last email response I got from them repeated the same thing they told me before: "We'll refund you the purchase price after we receive the broken statue"

So I sent out another email saying it would be pointless for me to ship it with the insane cost of sending it back to China so instead I'm asking for $60 in credit applied to another preorder I've got with them. If they don't apply the credit I'll just call up my credit card and get the charge disputed, I'm tired of dealing with this.

I doubt I'll buy anything from PlayAsia again once my credit is used up. Sucks too because I've been buying from them for years, this just really chaps my hide.

Yeah, when they asked me to try gluing it I just about spit out the water I was drinking. The past few emails have been from the same customer service rep so maybe the guy just has it out for me.

I don't think I'll miss shopping with them since their prices usually aren't that great especially with how much they charge for shipping on stuff compounded with the massive headache all of this has been.

Funny that it takes several days to get a reply when I ask a question involving giving me credit to make up for the error but they responded daily when I was asking about shipping it back to them.

Got the new statue in the mail today and it was actually packaged correctly(READ: Not opened, played with, and gutted of paperwork like the one from Play-Asia).

Friend of mine says he's interested in the broken statue so hopefully Play-Asia comes through with the credit and I can sell the broken one for the difference to break even on the deal.

I'm just happy to finally have a non broken statue, it's pretty badass looking.

According to the play-asia link, the figure released April 20th, 2007.

Is this a misprint, or did you really let them sit on your limited edition figurine for nearly a year, over a Christmas season, without considering some disgruntled part-time seasonal employee might drop a box on it? Just to save on shipping?

I mean, not that it's appropriate to say 'just glue the head back on', and I hope they work something out for you... but when you're buying something nice like that, you have to set aside the cheapass-ery a bit, y'know?

Oh they did sit on it for that long since I ordered all the Zelda statues in the series at the sime time.

Just got another email from them today as well:

We have discussed your case with our Managing staff seriously. It is
concluded that we will instruct Fedex to start an investigation of your
case. You will receive full refund payment when the investigation confirms
the damage occurs during transit of parcel. Please kindly keep all received
items and packages well for the investigation. We believe you will receive
the call from Fedex in near future. You will be informed of the updated
news of investigation.

Problem is, the statue wasn't damaged in transit to me since the box was perfectly fine so Fed-Ex isn't going to do a damn thing. I already talked to Fed-Ex about this a week ago so I already know the answer. I LOVE getting the run around on this.

2 years? damn.. i dont think i could wait that long. heck, im thinking twice about pulling my GTA 4 preorder from amazon.

im pretty sure they dropped it somehow before shipment. possibly got moved around the warehouse and eventually they are tired of keeping it so they offered to send to you. is it insured from fedex? im sure it is.. you could just do a claim instead or offer you to send it back to the sender for free. either way, you should win your case. although i would prefer fedex paying you for your loss so you could keep the broken, severed head link :)

"We so sorry for your broken statue we call Fed Ex and if they no say the statue broke well then you get no money. Thank you for business so much."

That's what I gathered from the poorly written e-mail. Baffoons.

That's almost exactly what one of the earlier emails said. :/

If they give me store credit I might just pawn it off to someone and cancel the rest of my order with them for the other statues. I've used them for years, I can't believe I'm having this much trouble.

The plot thickens. Just got a new email back from them finally responding to my anger that the statue was missing the authencity card.

We are sorry. We cannot guarantee that the certificate of authenticity is included in the figure of each re-stock. Usually we will not inform the details of the certificate to customer before shipment. Please accept our apology.

How retarded can they possibly be? That certificate MUST be included because it has the authenticity number for the statue proving that it is genuine. I'm so tired of this bullshit.

Just file a credit card dispute at this point. You shouldn't lose ANY money out of this. The statue is broken and they're being really retarded about it.

Thats terrible. I've never had any problems with PA before, but I've only ordered from them on one occasion.

Shipping will be a pain. Large breakable items should be insured before shipping to prevent this from happening!

Reply today says they've settled with Fedex and I'll be refunded the entire purchase price plus shipping and I get to keep the figure(which a friend of mine wants to buy).

Thank you Fedex! I was on the phone with them for a half an hour last week about this, haha.
