I just got this in an e-mail. If you're looking for Avatar on DVD (not Blu-Ray) and live near a CVS Pharmacy, you can get somewhat of a deal on the standard DVD...

You have to use a CVS ExtraCare Card to get the discount on Avatar, which is free to sign up and free to use (you can sign-up and use that day).

If you don't want the $15 iTunes Gift Card, maybe you can return it to CVS the next week and keep Avatar for $9.99?

I work at CVS. No good on the return of giftcards.

This weeks deal is better for the DVD ( Widescreen )
Buy 25$ of select stuff. Get it for 4.99

Coke 12PKs are on sale. Cereal, TP, and some other stuff. It's a good deal if you already need the stuff.

Yep, that's how I bought my copy of Avatar. Strange that it's not getting garnering much attention for such a great deal. Who doesn't need toiletries and such anyways.

Maybe I'm missing something, but spending $30 out of pocket doesn't seem as good of a deal compared to spending $25 out of pocket. Yes, the DVD itself is listed cheaper, but your total out of pocket is more. Only way your deal is better is if you use mfr coupons and extra bucks if you have them.

Twofold for me. The barebones DVD is to tide things over until the Blu-ray with the goodies come out later in the year. No point investing any more than $5 -- you can't buy the movie straight up for less elsewhere.

The items on the page are on sale. Basic homegoods are always needed, and it's not a lot to stock up. Just four laundry detergents already nets a big chunk towards the total. Easy spending.

I did happen to use the Extra Bucks I had to bring down the total. No mfr coupons, but that would've been nice

I saw this and thought that this was by far the best way to get the movie.

I think you missed the whole point. Not counting out of pocket, if you were going to buy that stuff anyways, why not get it there instead of your grocery store if the prices are decent, then get the dvd cheaper. It is only a deal if you already need the items you are buying which was mentioned.

So, if you don't use itunes you can either

A. Spend 15 bucks on a useless for you itunes gift card
or
B. Buy stuff you were already going to buy that you can use.

No point in arguing.

Ah, I didn't know about the $25 in groceries deal. Sounds pretty damn good. Will that deal concurrent with this one I've posted here, or will it end on May 2?

Not arguing, just letting you know why everyone is up in arms about you saying it wasn't a deal :)
