I'm new to the US (been here 6 months) AND new to CAG. I've noticed all the Black Friday leaked ads and whatnot, but I haven't heard much about Cyber Monday. Do deals typically leak for that? If so, when? Are they better/worse than Black Friday? How many/what stores do Cyber Monday deals? Are they only for online purchases or do they do in-store deals too?

Sorry for the barrage of questions. TIA!

This would probably go in Request Video Game Deals section, I think.

I am also interested in this as I'm out of town for Black Friday.

Cyber Monday is primarily an online-only event for most online vendors, though BB, CC and WM get into the action on Cyber Monday. Not sure about Target or other B&M vendors with online presence, though I know in the past, it's been big at BB, CC & WM.

Yea it's the online only edition of Black Friday basically. Online retailers usually put their huge sales out on the Monday after Black Friday because well, everyone is physically out shopping on BF lol. They aren't at their computers so it would be a waste. The Monday after BF is perfect for online retailers because they can offer deals that stores offered on BF, or even deals that are better or weren't offered on Friday. Cyber Monday is becoming just as big, if not bigger, of a "holiday" tradition as BF.

Also, don't make the mistake I made last year and simply sit at your computer butt naked for hours on end hoping that "Cyber Monday" means exactly what you think it means...

Is he kidding? I don't know! :)

It's bullshit marketing buzzwords. It was literally created 2 years ago.

The best deals you'll find are physically in stores ("brick and mortar," abbreviated B&M on this site) on Black Friday, and most websites will have somewhat similar deals either ON Black Friday or throughout the weekend. They won't be substantially better on Monday like this magical thing that all the news networks proclaim.

Basically, it's nothing but lies - just focus on Black Friday and online stuff on the weekend, because on "Cyber Monday" you aren't going to find these amazing deals people like to imagine.
