Dark Souls or NBA 2k12 with $10 gift card at Best Buy

probably because of the pre-order and buy 5 games get $100 promotion. Wish that they would apply it to Rage though.
 
Is this for ordering online only or can I pick up in store?

Edit: Err, like could I grab the game and match the online deal with the person at the register? I don't want a BB employee selecting my copy of 2K12 because I want the Jordan cover.
 
Crud. I totally missed that. Oh well, screw it. I ordered and requested in-store pick-up. I'll just have to convince the register that there are multiple covers for 2K12. Pretty sure they won't care about exchanging for the product. Bought Dark Souls too. I have a pending order that has yet to be shipped from Amazon that's guaranteed to be the CE. If it truly is the Dark Souls CE at BB then that'd be nice. If not, I can call false advertisement on BB (which I usually do anyway like when they didn't have the ICO/SotC collection in stock at mine). I'm wondering if I can get a refund then and there, or would I have to wait until I receive the GC then go back to get my money back.

Edit: Aw hell. It looks like something is wrong with BB's system. I ordered both 2K12 and Dark Souls and am supposed to get two $20 GCs but they charged me for one of them so my order came out to be around $135.xx. E-mailing now to get this cleared up. -_-

I think the CE thing is just a big mistake, although who knows.

Now, what IS lame is that it's online only. They shouldn't even be allowed to do that since their policy is that they match all their online deals... yeah yeah I know "except when otherwise stated". Bull...

I'm still going to try anyway, especially since KMart has the credit deal there. I know BB has changed their policy but has anybody had success having them PM Kmart lately?
 
I just did this deal and did instore pick up Dark Souls(PS3). Haven't got the pick up confirmation since the store doesn't open for another 30 mins. So far it does look like you can do instore pick up but they are mailing the giftcard since there was no option to pick that up too. Maybe I can convince them when I pick up the game.
 
Went to pick it up at Worst Buy and they tried to give me the regular edition, F them! Also they took the word Collector's Edition out from that page.

Edit : WTF, they charged me for the game AND the giftcard, I did call to have to order canceled just now. Pretty bs that they would ship the product out and charge me even though I never picked up the game.

I was able to order it with in-store pickup. They are mailing the giftcard though, only the game is pickup-able.
 
Wow crazy news from bestbuy. My local store had several Collectors Edition in stock on Saturday but i was the only one that pre-ordered. They had to send all the extras back since the pre-order count was low. The guy in charge of gaming set my Collectors Edition aside for me...that is very awesome oh him.

Perhaps the online deal was real. If so im guessing only those that chose for it to be shipped will get it.
 
y would they make this online only? since they have like no promotion for Dark Souls in their stores, this would be a pretty good incentive to pick up the game, especially for someone like me who preordered the damn thing
 
Just ordered and got confirm that it is ready for pickup at my BB. Called CS to pm Frys for $50. Got a case number for credit dept to check since he can't price adjust until I picked it up. It will be sweet to get this at 50 + the 10 gc in the mail. :)
 
Following up on my previous post...

I was told by manager that they were instructed to ship their CE's back. Apparently bestbuy had the same SKU number for CE and Regular. Other stores didn't get theirs because of this. They are going to fix the SKU and then sell but they have to allocate inventory first. I don't know when....and this is the extent of my knowledge on the matter.

how would I go about doing that? im new to this :) would I just order the game online and then call on the phone or would they price match it in store?

Yes. Order online then call 1-888-best-buy for price match. U must have the store u are trying to pm with within 25 miles of ur address.

sweet and you pay in store correct? I've never bought online from them and also would I just tell them that the pm is from frys and they will know what im talking about? sorry for all the questions I just want to get it right lol.

My effin store wouldnt do this. At the time the game dept girl told me to take nba2k12 to customer service and theyll give me $10 gc, then cs look at me like they knew nothing bout it.
 
Can anyone who's picked up Dark Souls comment on whether the 360 version controls as well. I played Deomns Souls on the ps3 and it was one of the only games where the dual shock 3 actually felt comfortable to me. That said, I like the :360: controller better so I'm thinking of picking up the :360: version of Dark Souls.
 
I went to the store and asked them to match the website and eventually the manager pulled the deal up on the computer and adjusted the price of the game down $10 manually after adding the gift card to the transaction. It took like a half hour to finally get checked out succesfully though.

U pay online. Btw, just got off the phone from CS. I'll be getting the $10 credit + the $10 gc is already in the mail... Woot!
 
Nope. Ordered online for in-store pickup but no Collector's edition in sight. The lady checked the sku and it was the same for the regular.
