DEAD Guitar Hero 2 New (360, game only) reduced to $30 at Gamestop.

Sucks to be you.. but wait why not buy it at Gamestop, and then return that one to BB get your GCard money back.

Oh wait you just created this topic to whine...WAAAA!

Do you two know each other? If so, get a room. If not, you're a dickhead.

In any event, I may capitalize on this price. So thanks, opening poster.

Nope, I don't know him. Lance Sr. must be proud of his son's ability to make a first impression.

Personally, I'm surprised. I thought these games were pricefixed, or at least forbidden to be sold too cheap, a la iPods and whatnot. This GH2 price is cheaper than the lowest price I've ever seen for Rocks The 80s.

Anybody know of a good/cheap guitar to go along with this? Or is the bundle still the best way to go?

Ahh so that is why the used price went down. I bought a used copy last night at Gamestop for $26.99. I was surprised at the quality of the used copy... great box condition and the book inside, plus a flawless disc. I likely was the first person at this store to buy a used copy. They had three copies of it, one marked 26.99, one marked $4x.xx and one with no price tag. I asked the guy what the difference was, (ie one had book and case or something) and he said, that "somebody forgot to change the price".

I started it on hard since I've played a good amount of Rock Band on hard and finished GH3 on medium and starting hard. I NOW see why learning hammer-ons/pull-offs are helpful...

Why is it that the GH guitar will work with Rock Band, but the RB guitar wont work with GH. I tried it out on my 360 and it said that an unsupported guitar was connected. Anyone know if an update is coming.

Doubtful. Activision only wants their own guitars used with their games. I guess it's futile attempt to sell more overpriced single Xplorers.

I'm pretty sure I got Rocks The 80s for this price as well during a BB sale. But I can't guarantee I didn't use a coupon.

Sucks to re-buy this when I know I'm going to keep the PS2 version around for a while because of guitar incompatibility B.S. between RB and GH and because there are still some exclusives like most Rocks The 80s tracks.

I hate my RB guitar. I never use it. I'd rather have two GH3 guitars than my current setup of one GH#, one RB guitar. Wonder how much I could get on ebay for it or a straight up trade.

I believe that is intentional. I don't know on who's part it is that caused the miscommunication. I guess that RedOctane didn't want the harmonix's guitar to prevent people from buying the GH3 bundle. I don't think harmonix had the luxury of being so greedy since the RB bundle was only coming with one guitar and they were expecting people to by GH3 bundle or perhaps have a guitar laying around from GH2.

I've played with both guitars and I definitely prefer the wireless les paul. The RB guitar has some great features such as the upper fretboard buttons for guitar solos and the 'pedal' option to change the sound of the guitar. I prefer the feeling of the les paul (wireless is nice too)
GH2 standalone + GH3 bundle sounds the best way to go if you need to start out.
GH2 bundle for ~$50 + GH3 bundle is the best way to go if you need to start out.
I cant believe anybody that wanted this game didnt have it already.
Well, as for me, I was going to get it a long time ago but the rumors started about the GH3 Les Paul controller, so I held out for that since it's better than the Xplorer (aside from the wiggly breakaway neck that I don't particularly care for).

Lots of people started with GH1 on PS2 and are waiting for the cheapest time to switch.
it's been this price for awhile... i almost grabbed it during the b2g1f sale they had a few weeks ago.
You sure on that on new, wasn't b2g1f on used?
You sure on that on new, wasn't b2g1f on used?
New was 30.. used was 27....
the b2g1 was on the used though.
Dang it ...why won't they drop the prices of GH and GH2 for the PS2 !
lol yeah I'll never understand that. Now you can get a NEW copy of GH2 on the 360 cheaper than a used copy of GH1 or GH2 on the PS2. That's just fucked up.

I'd like to know where to grab the GH2 bundle for around $50.... Every place I see it is selling the thing for nearly the same cost of the GH3 bundle, which is absurd :)

Talk about a total pain in the rear, trying to decide which music game to get. Would love to play the drums in Rock Band, but the ~$170 price tag is crazy IMO, and I haven't heard many good things about the guitar (not to mention, it doesn't work with any of the GH games). However, you can't seem to pick up GH3 and two guitars for 360 without spending about the same as what Rock Band costs. We need a highly exploitable deal on these bundles already ;)

Amazon had Guitar Hero for $20 on BF, so keep your eyes open...
Also, you can get the dual pack (GH and GH2) for $60 list, which would give you each game at $30, same as this GH2 360 price.

Is there any reason to pick this up (GH2 360) if I already have GH2 for PS2 and GH3 for 360?

I'm wondering the same thing myself. I don't remember the DLC being all that great either, and I already have two guitars for my PS2 for the multiplayer experience.

Damn for $20 I definitely would have picked up GH1. Didn't know that sale was going on for BF. I'll be looking out for that on Amazon now. Already have the GH2 bundle for PS2 so just looking for GH1.

Give you 2 reasons to sell your PS2 versions GH and GH2.
1) you can unload your PS2 guitars and games while its still hot
2) Xbox achievements

No. The PS2 guitars do not work correctly on the PS3, and the PS3 guitar will not play the PS2 GH games.

Nice. Welcome, new Guitar Hero customers. Please assume a bent over position. Comfortable? Good. Get used to it.

Reason not to:

"Rocks the 80s" content still exclusive. And with the Romantics law suit, don't expect that one to show up anywhere else anytime soon.

Agreed. I would love to find this puppy for $50, $89.99 isn't cutting it!

I am thinking about getting a copy of this, but I still need the GH3 guitar (because it is compatible with all games, including rock band, so I have heard). Can anyone send me a link of a reasonably priced GH3 guitar?

Looking for a good price on GH3 myself. Not paying $90 for it at best buy (10% off coupon). I'll just wait. Still having fun with Halo 3 and renting other stuff to keep me amused.

I've got GH2 for PS2, but I'm thinking about getting the 360 version too (used for $20) because of the exclusive songs and downloadable content... Do you think it's worth it?

The downloadable content is just GH1 songs mainly. Its only real value are achievements and some are more trouble than they are worth to get. Like the two player ones. Where if you have friends that will play but suck ass, you'll probably never get them. Unless you put an ad in the paper: "Wanted: skilled GH player for achievement hunting. Must be non-smoker."
