Sorry if this is old;

Got my OXM in the mail today, and surprisingly it featured a story on Dead Rising 2. The story itself was a bit on the short side and they only showed off 5 new pics.

Notable info:

-Being handled by Western Developers, Blue Castle (previously worked on The Bigs) with input from the original team.

-Takes place in a knock-off of Las Vegas, called Fortune City. Hints that the game might take place at several locations within the City.

-New, unnamed Protagonist. No word on what happened to the characters from DR1

-Takes place several years after DR1 and features "Zombrex" "A cure for the Zombie disease that must be taken every 24 hours"

-No info on gameplay, but pics reveal the new Protagonist in a Casino surrounded by zombies wielding a Guitar, a Roulette Table and a over-sized Cell Phone. He also rides around on a dirt bike in one pic.

Not quite sure if I should be interested. Especially after the announcement of it being handled by a Western developer. Especially not thrilled to know that their only credibility lies within sports games.

The engine and all the ground-work was done by the first team though, the new developer will just be tweaking as needed. The fact that the original developers will be monitoring (read: working on it as needed) makes it a lot easier to swallow too.

Besides, it'd take a lot to fuck up a game taking place in Vegas featuring an army of zombies. A lot.

As long as they give us more options regarding saving your game (which seems to be the biggest complaint of the first game) and make the difficulty more balanced throughout the game (my own biggest complaint of DR1) I think the majority of the people are going to be pleased.

I personally can't wait for DR2.
