Dead Space 2 multiplayer worth EA Online Pass?

Hey, all:

Managed to pickup a used copy of Dead Space 2 for PS3 through the GoHastings 40% off deal. However, I completely blanked on the whole EA need-a code-for-multiplayer situation.

Since it's used, I need to cough up $10 to access multiplayer. I'm a big fan of Dead Space, but some of the reviews for its multiplayer were less than glowing. Is it worth it, or is it just warmed over Left 4 Dead.

I got that game from GF played through it almost 2 times. I never even considered playing the multiplayer. I think that it has a 48 hour trial. Based on review I don't think the multi is great. You can skip it, because the single player is what you want Dead Space for.
 
the mp is not worth getting a pass for. youre not missing anything you do the same shit and basically switch from being a monster to being a human back and forth until the games end. you unlock weapons and armor and monster upgrades and thats it. put that 10 bucks to better use.

If I need to get my zombie murder on, I've got both L4Ds to do that. Kind of a shame though. I really like Dead Space. I'm only about 20 minutes into DS2, but it plays well and looks like a Hollywood film. I actually wander around and look at the details in the environments when something is not trying to disembowel me.

I found the Hacker suit to be very helpful, especially early on. On the 360, you'll need to download and complete Ignition; but not sure how that works on PS3.

You'll also get access to 4 special Conduit Rooms with extra goodies; which help out with gameplay progression.

Dead Space 2; great single player experience, multiplayer is meh.
 
There's just one mode for mp and only 5 maps. It really feels like it was thrown on just to say we have mp which I'm sure it was. It isn't that bad though. I've played it some and enjoyed it for what its worth. I wouldn't bother with it unless you could get the online pass cheap which on ebay there like 2-3 bucks or even cheaper.
