Deals found online not being honored question?

First off, I found a deal online that was unbelievable, I tried to order and even though it says in-stock it would not let me order. Now this wasn't just 1 single item it was 5 different models. After calling the company to try and buy over phone, I was told it was a mistake that has been online there for several days and they could not let me buy the items I wanted, but I could buy a more expensive item instead, that is closer to the produst that I wanted original price.
so 2 questions....
Any advice on how to get the deal?
Any place I can take the screenshot from thier website for a guaranteed price match?

Companies normally have outs in their website information that will get them out of obviously pricing mistakes like the one you're talking about.

Unless you're taking it somewhere that would match it pretty much sight unseen, don't plan on getting it.
 
Thats what I'm thinking, but this is a major company, they told me that they knew about the problem for a couple days and left it up, and tried to sell me another item that was the price of the other items original price. the item I am trying to get had a "while quanities last. Intermediate markdowns may have been taken"

it specically had the Reg. price with a strike through it

Doesn't mean it's not an error, but you might get a B&M retailer dumb enough to believe that though. Doubt it, but if you care that much, go try it.
 
Thought I'd go the BBB way, but thanks. I thought that maybe with all the deal experts around here there may be some advice.

the items that they said they were not able to remove has now been mysteriously removed.
 
Yeah that seems to be a simple mistake and I would be surprised if they honored it. It's like placing an extra 0 at the end. So you probably should have saved 80 bucks instead of 800. If it was something small like less than $100, my might let it slide. Also considering if you weren't the only one buying this. They would be taking a huge hit to honor everyone's order.

Too bad though, that would have been a crazy steal.
