I am currently using Comcast and I am paying over $100 for cable, internet and HBO. I have heard some people get special deals with Comcast in order to get cheaper rates, how do they go about doing that? Or should I think about going with DSL and Dish combos from SBC (ATT)? Any advice would be great!

I was told every so often call them up and say i want to cancel and they will offer you a lower rate for a few months. Go with dish network. Great service.

Not sure about other areas, but next month Verizon is unveiling their new cable service, and im sure there will be some kind of combination deals with their DSL/Fios.

The guy is coming tomorrow to install our new 15/2 Fiberoptic internet connection ^_^. $39.95 a month (compared to Road Runner's 7/1 for $44.95 a month)

You are talking about the double play package I believe its 59.99
I saw on tv on a deal getting both internet and cable for like $50 from comcast
You could always buy a black box and then just buy basic cable unless all your channels go through digital. I guess they still work on older cable systems?

I pay just under $100 a month for my digital cable, sports package, dvr and internet. :???: I've got Insight, I like it alot more than the highspeed net through the phone company. Your options and your leverage to deal with the cable company will vary alot depending on where you live and how many other options are in your area.

I use Dish network and SBC DSL. SBC was running a special for new customers of $13/mo for 1.5 down/512 up and $18/ month for 3 down/1 up. I love my dish network. If you go dish, Ive got a coupon that will get you a free DVR and install and a $50 or $75 credit on your bill (Ill have to look to see which one exactly). Plus I think they are doing deals for new HD service as well (Which ill be going to at the end of the month). If you are interested, PM me and Ill send you the details.

Yeah, you can always threaten to cancel your Comcast Service and they MIGHT offer you a special rate or give you free HBO or something like that.

I had it work for me ONCE, but it's because I had complaints about the service. I currently have Comcast HD-DVR, Internet, HBO and STARZ and a CableCard for aroudn $90/month. (they gave me a $25 discount and free HBO/STARZ for a year). I think I only have a few months left, so I may be screwed after that.

I don't really feel like switching, but I can threaten. I will probably just cancel HBO/Starz and hopefully they offer it to me cheap again.
