(Although I do love me some MVC 2 and Darkstalkers/Vampire)

I liked the picture they had on the SNK website of every SNK character ever, when they were going out of business. Before they knew the previous owner was going to buy them back for pennies on the dollar.

Quite, but I believe a relationship between them is now canon, as well, which makes no sense since she's supposedly been non-corporeal since after the first game. I'll see if I can locate an official source that would make me think this.

Since when is Haohmaru self taught? I've heard his mythology as having an unnamed teacher who proclaimed him invincible at age 14 and/or Nicotine as his teacher.
 
That pencil board was released before the 2nd game, which had Nicotine in it, was released, so technically it wasn't wrong at the time.

Story: Haohmaru's mentor was Nicotine who also trained Genjuro Kibagami. One day Nicotine made Genjuro and Haohmaru fight to see who wins a magic scroll that increases your fighting skill. Genjuro won this fight, but was extremely brutal and almost killed Haohmaru. Nicotine gave the scroll to Haohmaru and expelled Genjuro from his Temple. With this Haohmaru became an even more skilled fighter than he was. One day as Haohmaru was searching for a fight he found a village with all the people in it dead. Haohmaru than found the last person alive in that village. It was Shizumaru as a baby. After that he trained Shizumaru to fight and also searched for the demon that had killed so many in that village.

So yes he wasn't self taunt, good catch.
 
Myself, I prefer old man Haohmaru from the Warrior's Rage era. He looks even more badass with a beard and grey hair.
