We had a trade transaction.

My Darkstalkers for the PSP for his Castlevania Aria Of Sorrow sealed/new GBA game.

I sent out the game on Monday via FedEx 3 day saver it got to him wednesday.

http://www.fedex.com/Tracking?ascend_header=1&clienttype=dotcom&cntry_code=us&language=english&tracknumbers=6734+3464+9330+

He gave me a USPS number and it's not even valid. I PMed him about it and he never responded.

Brian if you're reading this and you scammed me.. you're in for a big surprise son.

So this had better be some sort of mistake.
that sucks...pm shrike about it and see what he can do....i believe that he normally handles these types of things...

as for that surprise, what do you have in mind?

ever see the ending of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? That would probally be on his mind right now :)
i agree edit out the address for you're own benefit. Just a side note i live pretty close to this guy
It's still in TSD's quote though.

This happened Monday and you are worried already? Seems a bit unfounded to me. It is very possibly that his post office didn't scan the package when it went out and therefore it isn't in the system yet.

I was going to make the same comment.

Although according to his profile he was on CAG late yesterday and apparently didn't respond to your PM then.

People really need to make 0 FB traders send first. Though I see you both have 0 FB. Probably best to get your feet wet with an established trader.

I have a trade with him in progress as well. I agreed to trade Brothers In Arms (xbox) for Ninja Five-O (GBA). He gave me a DC# for the package he sent on Monday but it's invalid. I PMed him to maybe see if he typed it wrong by mistake and haven't heard back from him yet. I had him send first since I had more feedback than him though. So I'm not out of anything if he indeed turns out to be a scammer. Hopefully everything works out for all parties involved.

Same with me, I PMed him no reply.

I have a 0 feedback here, but check my sig.

If this ever happened to me - I'd pay local caggers of the scammer upwards of 70 dollars to get my games back from the fool. Sounds lame guys. I'd give it a couple more days - although if I were you - I would have probably already sent him a warning.

First off, I removed the name and address info from the OP. That was really stupid to do.

Second off, the USPS has had issues, for me in the past, where they don't scan a DC properly, or scan it at all, and the package still makes it way to the destination.

If it was supposed to ship Monday and it's Thursday morning, I think you are all over-reacting. By a huge margin.

Why don't you all just calm down a tiny bit and wait to see what happens over the next few days?

And one more thing, as a reminder, from the sticky about the new feedback system:
Buying, selling, and trading on any website can be a risky proposition, so let the buyer beware!
Cheap Ass Gamer & CAG Productions, LLC do not govern these transactions, so proceed at your own risk.
The Trader Ratings are to be used as reference only and are not a guarantee of anything. Any fradulent manipulation of the Trader Ratings system will result in a user banning.

A little patience might be a good idea.

But sitting around is soooo...boooring....

Oh well, hopefully the guy responds. Shouldn't take much more than a 15 second pm.

i didn't really see anyone over-react besides the OP....but everything else you said makes sense....people on here just get paranoid and feel that they need to keep absolute immediate contact with anyone who they're currently in the middle of a trade with....it doesnt always work out that way, some people have lives and work hard before they get a chance to come home and take advantage of this wonderful site that cheapy d supplies for us

SkyGheNe edited his post where he said he'd have already called the cops.

I've had boxes go invisible, without the DC showing up at all in the system, and make it to their destination intact and unharmed. More than once, and more than one at a time. If someone doesn't origin scan the DC on the box, then it goes invisible until it makes it to the destination post office, and sometimes, they don't scan it either. DC isn't a tracking number, like FedEx/UPS/DHL offer with their services, and it certainly isn't 100% foolproof.

Also, the USPS doesn't consider boxes lost until 14 business days.

Just wanted to make myself clear. I most definitely didn't post to say that he a scammer or not. I saw this thread and thought I should state that I had a trade in progress with him just in case he did turn out to be a scammer. Maybe I shouldn't have posted at all but I thought it might provide some more information on the situation (if there even is one).

Chris

whenever i trade with someone or sell something on ebay, i always get them a DC#....just to save a lot of potential problems from occuring, but I've never had to use a DC# before...whether for a package I was expecting or a package that I've shipped...I think that's a good thing

I've actually done it before too - but the cops don't do anything about it really. It's more of a scare tactic.

Imo, if you have a trade going on - you should keep the person up to date. Four days of nothing is a crock.

Is it so hard to believe that people have lives outside of the internet? Or maybe something more important that a video game trade came up? It's not unheard of.

How long does it take for you to type in www.cheapassgamer.com, forums, and them look at the top right of your screen to observe your private message inbox?

Takes me about 30 seconds.

30 Seconds over a span of 96 hours.

Now that's just looking to see if there are pms.

To respond to one saying that you are busy with work/friends/other things and will get back to them within a few days?

Another 30 seconds.

When you trade/sell/do business with someone - it is proper etiquette to keep the person you are providing a service to up to date with the transaction. Maybe we have a difference of opinion here. To me, this isn't about having a life - because believe it or not *shock,* I have one too.

Maybe you xcopy and xxdeadp0olxx should compare DC numbers since they seem to be invalid, see if they are the same...unless that's a bad idea. ;)

Yes, it is proper etiquette to keep someone in the loop. As the 0 feedback on birdfart's feedback would indicate, this would be his first deals. Some people don't get a clue until they've done it a couple of times and figured out what to do and what not to do.

Why don't you all just turn it down a notch or two, wait a few days, and see what happens? Crying for mods every single time that something doesn't look 100% on the mark, especially with a timeframe this short, doesn't do any real good.

As I posted on the first page, we're not here to police trades. We're here to manage CAG. If there's a problem, deal with them, and if that doesn't work, deal with whatever means you used to pay it, credit card, Paypal, personal check, money order, cashier's check, whatever. There are avenues for this, when a reasonable amount of time has passed.

That seems appropriate.

So, OP, did you "Jump the gun" and the items arrived today or what? If so, I think you might owe someone an "I'm sorry" ;)

I'm glad this all worked out. I'm glad you ended up with your games, and they showed up without any issues. Invisible, yes, though that's not the sender's fault, that's the USPS's fault.

I hope people will take a moment to pause when they think they might be "scammed", because there isn't any communication, have a little patience and wait a little while before thinking that there's a problem amiss.

Happily locking this thread, and hope we don't see another one for a while.
