Okay so need some advice..I want to buy a playstation 4 bundle from a user for 300 shipped and he wants me to gift it which is fine..but he only has 50 positive feedback so I asked him he would take 150 gifted now and 150 gifted once I receive it and he WONT do it..seems a little strange to me.

What should I do? Go for it or just don't bother wasting my time?

300 is a lot to lose if I gift..

Dont do it dude , you can get a used ps4 on cowboom.com for $260 they come with a warranty and if you search well enough you can get one that comes with a controller . Cowboom.com just recently had a 20% off all items in the store so that only sweetened the deal. There will be more deals like that in the future and everyone that i talk to is waiting for the 100 dollar off coupon so just be patient and score one on cowboom. You can get the other items that you are missing out on the bundle if with your savings.

Don't do it.

Gifting is for small/gift type transactions where buyer protection isn't important.

A PS4 purchase is way beyond the scope of gifting.  You deserve buyer protection and sellers should pay the fees for selling, it's the cost of doing business, even for a casual sale.

I sell lots  on other venues and I'd never expect a buyer to forego that protection.

Gifting is technically against the rules of the site, but a lot of people break that rule for small $ amounts. I've sold plenty of digital copy codes on here and pretty much everyone will gift the payment because it's such a small amount and sellers would be stupid to scam and ruin their reputation over that small amount. $300 on the other hand is not a small amount and I could definitely see someone with with a lower feedback rating thinking it would be worth it to throw away their account for $300. I wouldn't even do the split payment you offered him.

Like madgamer said, Paypal fees are part of the cost of doing business. He should respect the rules of the site anyway. Asking you for that much gifted payment is unreasonable and sketchy.

Half now half later is pretty generous since some buyer's won't even make a purchase that big unless the feedback sends first, and once received they send payment.

Not going to say who is right or who is wrong, but if you're uncomfortable with doing it that way, and the seller also has hesitation in pulling the trigger, then it's probably an indicator that it won't go well in either situation, and one of you will probably be walking away with a bad experience.

No need to go through with a transaction that you are already having problems with before anything even changes hands.

If the seller is that worried about losing $9.30 (it's still 3% plus $0.30, right?) on a $300 transaction, he shouldn't be posting it for that amount.

Mostly just repeating everyone else's opinion here, but that is too much to gift. You wouldn't feel comfortable sending $300 in cash, or even $150, to someone through the mail I bet, and that's the same as gifting through Paypal.
