Does anyone know if it will be difficult to get Wii Fit the day it comes out? Anyone got some inventory #'s for BB/CC?

I work at Best Buy (Media Department) and we received a memo that told us to pull any remaining Wii Fit Pre-orders that we had. At my store we had 50 Pre-order vouchers (though we sold all of them VERY quickly so we had none to pull). Dont really know if this is just for safety but the memo did state that they were doing this to make sure that all the current pre-orders will get them. Though it seems they had a feeling that some pre-orders will go home empty handed on the 21st.

The guys at my local EB Games said they are sold out for the first two shipments, unless I had a pre order before the end of last month, so I guess it depends on your area, I bet places like wal-mart will have some left.

GC stores are apparently all preordered through the first shipment but the second is up for grabs and should hit stores next Friday or so

My Target received about 15. For comparison, we probably had 70 Mario Karts when it launched, and we will have around 12 Wiis when Wii Fit launches.

I pre-ordered through amazon but I probably won't open just to see what it looks like in terms of demand. And I'm not sure I want to hold on to a $90 accessory.

[quote name='fshaia']Don't know about numbers but BB usually has more than the number on hand for pre-orders on release day for games. If you really want one try this link to target, it comes out about the same as it is in the store with tax because you get a $9 discount which helps cover shipping :

Weird - when I search for "Wii Fit" on target.com, it comes up with:

13 matches for "wii kit"

No items match "wii fit"
These results are for "wii kit"

Yet, that link clearly takes me to the Wii Fit page. I wonder what that means?

npr.org just did a story on the wii fit this morning and I saw a nytimes.com one this weekend. So, it's building some definite casual audience steam heading into next week.
