Good game. Requirements are pretty low. I get 45fps+ on a 2.7 dual core, 3GB RAM and a Radeon 5670 with the game on high settings with v-sync on.

GET THIS GAME. It plays well on systems with 8800GT as long as you don't set the resolution to a stupid high level. I have over 500 hours clocked into this and it's a very, VERY technical game compared to GoW3 and Bayonetta.

Is it better than what the xbox 360 demo made it out to be? The demo did not impress me too much and I noticed that target had it on clearance rather quick. Is it actually good or just "good for the price".

Well the thing is, when it was first released, it was only worth $59.99 for the fans, That's because it's repetitive in the 2nd half. You basically walk from point A to B in the first half and literally walk all the way from B to A in the second half. So when it was released it'd be a nice sub-$40 game.

But at the price it goes for now, which is usually less than $15, it's definitely worth a pick up to any action fan, especially the PC version.

The PC version (exclusively) includes a Turbo mode just like Devil May Cry 3, which makes the game move like 15% faster or something, but as small as the number sounds; you can't go back to normal after trying it out. For action games, that percentage makes a huge difference and makes the game feel much more fast-paced and adrenaline filled.

Here's the turbo mode:

I don't know if you can see it too much, but when playing it makes a real difference. And some of the attacks seem the same because he's using an EX Attack (when his sword is red), which makes Nero attack faster.

Also new is the Legendary Dark Knight mode. It's a difficulty mode you unlock after beating the game once, it's the same as Son of Sparta (hard mode), except there are a CRAP load of enemies at once now.

The PC version especially has always been pretty cheap, I myself got it for $7 on eBay. The reason this game dropped so fast even around launch was because how piracy-prone it is. It's got no activation key or any sort of protection system.

The gameplay itself is awesome, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

no if you didn't like the demo you won't like this

Never played the Devil May Cry games. I've been waiting for a sub $10 price on this for a while to give it a try.

I was underwhelmed by the demo and still enjoyed the final game.

Let's hope you're kidding

This deal has been available for a while actually, picked it up for this price on Marketplace back in September. Good to get more aware of it though.

It's a very well optimized game too. Shame Capcom put no effort into marketing it on the PC. Hell I know I told a lot of gamers about this and many didn't even realize a PC version even existed.

It's funny, I didn't even know this came out for PC until a few months after it's release, someone in Capcom started blaming piracy for poor sales. I think piracy is a scapegoat for everything now. Never mind we(Capcom) didn't put any effort into advertising and letting people know the game came out for PC (5 month delay from the console version so it wasn't exactly obvious), it's those damn pirates that killed all our sales!

Few other things that hurt sales too: not a genre that typically does too hot on PC, no Steam release at launch (which in and and of itself would've at least made people aware that a PC version was out).

Thanks for the valuable follow-up. ;)

Want my save file? This game has insane replayability.

I have a bunch of Youtube vids of me going through Dante Must Die and Bloody Palace

I've been playing it for well over a year and a half on the side as a stress-reliever.

Double post, but I agree. And the kicker here is, this is actually a GOOD PORT. It runs well on midrange hardware and has controller support for stuff other than X360 controllers.

It's a pity - they need to market PC side a little better and next time do simultaneous releases with the consoles. That's another way to get sales. I know several times I've seen games release for consoles only, and I'm going "shoot, no PC version, oh well", and MONTHS later I learn that they released the PC version as an afterthought. But for games where there were multiplatform simultaneous releases, I bought for PC on day one because I actually heard there was a PC version coming out WITH the console versions (Blur).

Do you need the disc in the drive to play the game? I don't like carrying discs around with my notebook computer.

Yeah, that's the only DRM that's on it.

It's annoying, I agree.

Big lots has this for $4 or $6 at most stores (I have seen the game for both price points).

As others have mentioned, this is a top of the line port that is very playable on even midranged machines.

just received my copy yesterday. today i'm attempting to install but the DirectX9c portion of the install (the first part of it mind you) keeps locking up @ about 50%-55% i'm running Win7 64bit professional, and my specs would murder this game so i dont see the problem? any of you experience this?
