Did I get an ok deal (Nintendo 64)?

CAGiversary!
Recently I was thinking about getting a Nintendo 64 (I didn't own one back in day but I played it a bunch of times at my cousins house) Well I pulled the trigger yesterday. I got the following for $30.50.

Nintendo 64 (which the seller describes as being in very good condition)
All necessary cables (including controller)
Perfect Dark
Wipeout 64

What do you guys think?

What sold me is that it came with Perfect Dark which is one of the handful of N64 games that I was planning on getting anyways and also I was a big wipeout fan on PS1 and I thought it would be cool to check out the N64 version.

Do yourself a favor and don't play Perfect Dark until you buy and go through a copy of Goldeneye or you won't be able to appreciate Goldeneye at all. See if you can't find the ram expansion pack and some other titles to consider are:
Mario 64
Blast Corps (kind of a puzzle game where you control demolition equipment)
LoZ: OoT and MM
One of the WWF games (I forget which was better WM2000 or No Mercy)

Hmm.. I'm sure there's some I'm missing but the system did have a few good ones. As far as your deal.. not good not bad.

It's an ok deal, but you sould get other great games like QiG said Mario 64, Golden Eye and WWF No Mercy (IMO was better than 'Mania 2000)

My list of games to get are:

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Goldeneye
Perfect Dark ( I already got it so that's one game down)
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Donkey Kong 64
Blastcorps
Body Harvest
Space Station Silicon Valley
Hybrid Heaven
Shadowman
Doesn't Perfect Dark need the Expansion Pack?

I know DK64 does.
I think so.

DK64 REQUIRES the expansion pack... Perfect is merely SEVERLY CRIPPLED. As in, half the game isn't playable. It's either the single player or the multiplayer. Regardless, no, you shouldn't play PD without the expansion pack.

Crap, I knew the Expansion pack existed but I didn't know it was "required" for any games. Guess I'll have to grab one off EBAY. Now, I kinda wished I would've waited to pick up a system with the expansion pack.

Pop open that compartment on the front top of your N64. If you see a red thing there, you've got an expansion pak.

Anyway, I'd say you got a good deal. If the N64 works, that's a decent price for that alone. Wipeout 64 is fun, too. I never played Perfect Dark, but I hear it's really good.

Thats for Gamecube....

I recommend Mario Kart 64. This game totally rocks, I would play it but I need to find my n64.

Also,
Mario Party 1-3
Paper Mario
Super Smash Bros.
Starfox 64 (I'm getting this one through VC)

And ya you do need the expansion pack to play certain games. I remember it came with DK64 if you bought the game.

Do as Chu suggested. Chances are if the seller had PD, then there is an expansion pack already there. But, the chances are still there that the pack isn't in the system already.

So I'd wait until you get the system until you get an expansion pack bought.

Actually, if you had a Gamestop 'dump store' in your area when they were cleaning out the older gen stuff(PS1, N64, Dreamcast, Saturn, Genesis, SNES, etc, etc, etc), then you could've bought an expansion pack for ALOT cheaper than Ebay I'm sure.

I was tempted to clean out the local dump store JUST before they were ordered to obliterate their remaining stock before dumpstering it, but I procrastinated and D-Day came and went and I was a day late and a dollar short as always.

Shame really, since they had about 3-10 expansion packs, numerous memory cards and 3-6 copies of WWF No Mercy and a shitton of crap old copies of Madden and other games most didn't want. Most of the 'good stuff' was picked clean by employees and hoarders/collectors/resellers long before the end came for what was left.

I bought a couple of used N64s from GS two Xmases ago, and both of them had the expansion pack. I took the liberty of checking all the stock they had, and all them indeed had it. I would thus say there's a pretty good chance you already have it.

No love for Star Wars Rogue Squadron or Battle for Naboo? I'll admit that BfN wasn't up to par with the RS series, but it was alright.

That and Snowboard Kids 1 & 2 are also worth picking up along with the first Mystical Ninja starring Goemon (kinda like Zelda lite with a wacky Japanese theme).
