This may be in the wrong forum, but hopefully someone can help me.

I have a HDTV with built in tuner, would it be of any benefit to get DirectTV's HD Receiver? There was a disclaimer on their page that said in communities where local channel OTA HD was available, that the an antenna would be needed (Which I understand), but basically it looked like it was saying that if those channels were available OTA, they wouldn't be available through the receiver.

We do pick up quite a few channels through the ANT but CW isn't one of them, and my wife wants it in HD worse than anything. So if anyone has any thoughts, let me know.

Also, would anyone recommend just going with Comcast and their HD Receiver instead of the DirectTV?

Unless Direct offers your local channels in HD you have to use the antenna. Look on the D-TV site it will tell you if they offer it or not.

I am in the same boat you are deciding between comcast and direct tv and have been viewing forums for a while now trying to decide (Dish Network also). A lot of it depends on where you live. Right now I can't get local HD stations on Direct TV. I would go to comcast, but my disdain for them grows by the minute.
