Disabling buttons while watching movies

I've recently bought about 25 UMD movies. What I find incredibly annoying are the top R/L buttons. I keep accidently hitting them while holding the PSP and it goes to the next or previous track.

1. Is there any way to disable these buttons for movie viewing?

2. Battery seems to drain awful fast with movie viewing. Is there a easy way to transfer to MS and does that help with battery life?

3. The sound on my slim PSP is really, really weak. I crank it up all the way and it's still hard to hear. Are all PSPs like that?

TIA.

Didn't notice the hold switch on your system? Wow....

Yeah all PSPs have weak sauce volume for movies. Games all sound pretty loud but movies not so much. Pick up a speaker dock. I'm sure that there will be a deal for one soon. Just keep your eyes peeled.

Go to the "video settings" tab in the XMB. You'll find a setting that reads "L/R buttons" you can use this to diable just those buttons during movie playback. Also there's a "UMD volume" setting there where you can bump up the default volume for UMD playback (+1, or +2,) as well. It does help a bit.
