That's cool that Atlus finally reprinted copies of Disgaea, but I still can't help but feel a bit flustered by the fact that even Fry's is selling copies for $49.99 each.
I mean, the game is quite old and should literally be down to at least $29.99, especially for a reprint, don't you think?
Regardless, this is good news for people who have been trying to find this game.
Personally, I don't plan on buying this for $49.99 + tax simply because it doesn't fall under my "If it isn't in some sort of collector's box or considered to be 'limited edition', I won't buy it for full retail price" policy which I have been abiding by for the past few years.
To date, the only games that I have actually paid full retail price for in the last couple of years were "Halo 2: Limited Edition" ($59.99, but I used EB games credit, which I managed to 'build up') and most recently, "Resident Evil 4: Gamestop Limited Edition" ($59.99 - Cash outta' my pocket unfortunately).
I'm sure Disgaea is a great game, but come on.... $49.99 for a reprint? Sure, it doesn't have that ugly ass "greatest hits" red bar on the top, but it's still a re-release of the original game.
If anything, I just hope that this re-release of Disgaea makes the going 'ebay prices' for the game plummet, so in the end, the game's overall price will decrease in value. That way, everyone can have a chance to play it.
the reprint Will not make the price crash, why does everything think this.. Disgaea has already been reprinted (hell i think this is the 3rd or 4th printing) and the vaule has stuck... within 6 months most all the copies will be gone and the vaule will go right back up IF and that is a MAJOR IF the price drops.
