DLP or LCD TVs, opinions wanted

Dont forget about CRT. Best blacks on a TV set.

I second Tokerblue's recomendation. AVS is the place for infromation. Plan to be there for a while, their forums have a ton of information.

Well, if you are looking for down the road....don't even bother doing much research....things will change. I personally like my RPTV. MY friend has a Pioneer Plasma, and I thought the picture was good, but ntohing like WOW. Does emit a lot of light though

I personally have my eye on a LCD Rear Projection from Sony....you can get a 70" for around $4000, but I already have a 55" Mits

LCD!!!! DLP TV's Blow. Picture quality is way better on a LCD and with a DLP you just about have to look at that shit head on no angles or nothing. Get a LCD.

I like rear projection TVs, but then again I have a room that I can almost completely black out and I can afford the calibration for it. Between DLP and LCD I'd probably buy DLP though. Really one of the most important things is to buy the right size screen. If you are sitting back 12 feet you don't want something too small, and if you only sit back 5-6 feet you don't want something too big.

I have had a samsung dlp for over a year now and it rocks. Viewing angle is large despite what others in the forum have said. Best HD picture on the market. I've had many people and cable people comment on how much better the HD picture is on this tv then any lcd, place, or rptv they have seen. I'm nothing but impressed with samsung.
