Pretty simple poll here.

I've been playing New Super Mario Bros Wii with my gf, and she was moving really slow. I reminded her to always hold the run button; something she claimed to never do in Mario games. It got me curious about other people, do you hold the run button all the time, or do you only use it to make specific jumps?

That would be a slow game if I was just walking the whole time. I hold the run button 99% of the time. Same in other games too if the run isn't automated.

I always hold run all the time.

I feel like you can really get down the rhythm of a Mario level and the jump sequences if your scrolling time is semi-constant.

Plus it's more amusing when you die ... It'd just be infuriating to die after not running and attempting to carefully jump.

It's so weird that you would post this poll now. I was just thinking about this the other day when playing NSMB Wii. I always hold it down, releasing it only when necessary.

I had to stop and think that I held the button down all the time, because it's so automatic for me to play that way.

lol my gf does that, too. it pisses me off.

Yup, thought about this while playing NSMB Wii too. I don't even think about holding it down, and then when there comes the occasional spot where you need to go slowly and I fuck it up like 12 times and then think "oh, don't run, shit."

Starting to sound like the run button should be changed to the man button.

Yeah, you guys think you're all hardcore, I never let go of the forward button on the d-pad. Eat my Italian scented dust, suckers.
