do you guys do group buys?

my friend at futureshop/bestbuy gets a "friends and family" discount. but he also told me that someone off the street who comes in and buys a lot that they can get a discount too depending on what there buying.

like something like xbox live points cards are like $20 he says if you buy 10 you get 10% off. if you buy even more he will ask his manager but might be able to get a bigger discount.

has anyone tried doing that here organising a group buy? would anyone even be interested?
 
Hmmm, doesn't seem worth it. Most of us don't carry so much drug money with us. I keep thinking I might get robbed if have that type of money on me. Internet purchases tend to be cheaper.
 
Is it me or does this thread seem like it will turn into. Hey guys I just bought a million xbox live cards for cheap at the local store and I am selling them on ebay. New accounts only...

xbox live was only an example. the question was i'm curious if group buys was something people did because after talking to my friend i was tryng to think of a way to take advantage of it.

but i do see a few problems like who's gonna organise it do they pay the whole thing what if they get screwed if people drop out or don't pay etc.
