[DOA?] Gran Turismo 4 22.18 OVERSTOCK ??

Proof that literacy is a dead concept.

Look up at the top of the page, under the category:

Books, Music, & Videos > Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo > Games > PlayStation 2

It's most likely the guide.

well i called them and they are no help. They are saying its the game for the ps2 but its probally the book. Dont feel like risking it cause i dont want to pay the 5 bucks to return it

just so you know, they put all games in "books, music, & videos" they consider all games as "DVDs/CDs" even GBA/DS games.

NOt really cause its listed TWICE under same topic

http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=1127977

and that says Books, Music, & Videos > Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo > Games > PlayStation 2

and

http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=628155

and that is listed under
Books, Music, & Videos > Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo > Games > PlayStation 2

so both of them are LISTED under the same Cat. so its not a problem with reading if both are under the same topic

its probally the guide but could be interesting if someone wants to push it. Bad thing it also says PRe order ships MARCH 8 while The games been out since Mid Feb

I went ahead and placed an order for one.

If it was the book it would be placed under a category similar to this one:
Books, Music, & Videos > Books > Non-Fiction > Games

I'll let you know how it goes.

Its probably the guide due to MSRPs and release dates nearly matching. I am curious though, anybody know the deal about the guide? What on earth could PRIMA put out thats worth $35 bucks!
It's probably the "Driving The Game" book that Cheapy posted the link to. Also on ebgames.com at http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/246102.asp
That seems pretty likely. The dimensions given for most games seem to be 7x5x1, whereas the dimensions given for this item are 9.0x6.45x0.75. I'm staying away, as I am already trying to return a different item that was misrepresented on their website (and by the CSR with whom I spoke before placing the order).

We know it's "probably the guide", that statement hasbeen posted like ten times in this thread alone!

Oh, and it's probably the guide.

I just spoke with a customer rep online, via their chat service, and she assured me that I will be receiving the game and not a guide.

She also told me if a guide did arrive instead of the game, I would need to contact them, and they would "take care of it."

I still have some doubts and I will not be surprised if a guide does arrive at my door, but at least if I do get that 35 dollar guide, I only paid around 23 for it.

Here's to hoping.

I ordered one too! It can't hurt! I'll let you all know as soon as it comes...

Back in October, I ordered SMB3 on GBA from overstock for about $11 shipped. They sent me the strat guide. I asked if I could have a refund, and also told them that they should better distinguish their categories, since it's easy to mistake the two (like in this case).

Anyways, they then tell me that, If I'd like, I can forgo a refund and instead simply return the guide and recieve the game instead. Of course I said yes. So you may or may not be able to argue that it was their fault for having such a misleading item description, and get the actual game for that price. It worked for me.

Damn straight! They should have photos off all items -or at least better describing descriptions! I just got my order confirmation email and it says "Order number: XXXXXX Item: Gran Turismo 4". Let the fun begin! Booyah!

i would just like to point out that when i brought up the window from the original link off to the left where it says "top sellers" it has gt4 for 45 bucks, so i clearly think this is not the game, but maybe you dont care and want to order it anyway for the hopes that they will replace it for free with the game due to the description. the fact that there is an actual link to the game on the same page at a different price (with the picture of the box, this page has no picture, hence the confusion), tells me this is DEFINATLY NOT the game itself.
