Does anyone know how good of a MP3 player this one is?

the reviews on amazon arent promising, seems like people praise the price but have various issues with the player its self
 
Honestly I would stay away from cheap HD based MP3 players. But at that value, it's sometime hard to resist I suppose. There seem like quite a few customer reviews on the unit, you can probably read about it and see if any CAG got it who can convince you to get or otherwise.

I've had that player for a few months and I'm really happy with it. The music player software it uses to stream music from the player to the computer isn't so stable... like it'll crash out every once in a while, but that's it. Great battery life.
 
I would suggest getting/reading the opinions at headfi.com, they are a knowledgable bunch in terms of audio, lowend to audiophile. Just doing a quick search there myself shows decent reviews/audio quality and potential concerns over compatibility with macs, lack of being able to use folders to organize music and the earphone jack being used on other headphones.
