Does CompUSA pricematch

I was in there today and I saw something I wanted, but not the price I wanted it for. I asked a guy if they price matched and he said only with local stores, but he was unsure. Gamestop is like 4 stores down from them (it's a plaza) so I think that would qualify as local ;) .

CompUSA customer service varies from great to crap, it depends on the employee. I have made purchases where they'll price-match online, or with a phone call, to 'don't forget your rebate!.'

Then, there's a few times where the moron won't even bother scanning the item for a price check and just says, 'It's whatever the sticker says, even if it's wrong, I'll have to charge you the higher price.'

They do have a PM policy and I have PMed there. I doubt you'd get them to accept Gamestop as a competitor though, but you may be able to swing it. I had to argue with them for 15 minutes to get them to accept Sears as a competitor (store is w/in a mile, but their claim was Sears sells different products...)

It's also their policy to give you $1 off the matched price if you are doing a PM. (Their version of the low price guarantee.) But, the couple times I've been in there the rep had no clue this was their policy and not having a print out from the site with that info I had to just let it go.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure the last time I looked that up (after doing my last PM) they mentioned the extra buck off on the website. (I have a handout with the policy from the local CompUSA that mentions the extra buck.)

So maybe they've changed that part of the policy within the last few months.

As far as I know, there is no extra buck off when CompUSA price matches.

This has been for at least 2 years.

But CompUSA will price match. Just make sure you ask a customer service rep to do it. Most sales people will either say they don't do it or they'll just send you to customer service.

I was in there a few months ago and they had handouts at the customer service desk mentioning the extra buck off and I did see it on the website as well. Like I said I've never met an employee there that knew this was the policy, so not surprising you hadn't heard of it either.

IIRC the last time I was in there I had the handout on me, but it was when I had to fight to get them to PM to Sears and the ad I was PMing was an obvious price mistake, so I decided not to push my luck by asking for an extra buck off on top :)
