Donkey Kong

So...you are talking Donkey Kong Country? That's a vastly different game than Donkey Kong (Arcade/NES/Atari?)

And yes, I still have a SNES...and DKC.

Donkey Kong on consoles BLOWS! Never play a 4-way game with an 8-way controller - especially a d-pad! *shudders*

I FINALLY broke 100K!!! I'm so psyched. I could never get past the 3rd elevator stage but I finally did - my new high score is 104,600. It's not the greatest score but over 100K was my goal when I first built the cabinet (my previous high was like 40K). Woo hoo!!!

I love days off from work - I just got 125,600 - by far my highest score. I think I've got a good idea how to beat that pesky 3rd elevator stage since I've been able to do it a few times now - once I get past there I'm good for another 30,000 points. I am getting closer to my NEW goal of 200,000!!! Woo hoo!!!
 
lol are you going to try to be the next King of Kong or perhaps CAG of Kong (bad joke lulz)?

But yeah I've heard a lot of the arcade players bash on the console port, I've played the MAME version and the NES version to see if I could spot the difference myself and did notice some noticeable stuff but not to the extent where the console one was unenjoyable. However, if I had one of those beasts in my living room perhaps I would feel a lot different...
 
I *loved* Donkey Kong when it was in the arcades. I've got a Hori Real Arcade Pro EX-SE for my 360, and have it set to 4-way for Pac-Man CE, etc, and it's fantastic, but obviously Donkey Kong (arcade) is never going to be released on the 360. If DK Arcade is ever released on the VC, is there out there somewhere a 360-to-Wii controller adapter? I presume not, but figured I'd ask.

What's up 177,000????? Damn I rule. I'm actually finding the later levels (Level 5+) to be the easiest because I can somewhat predict and control the behavior of the enemies. I really want to break 200K...

I thought most people considered DKC2 to be the best game of the trilogy?

I replayed all three games in the trilogy a year or two ago on the Virtual Console and I really enjoyed them. I would love to see Nintendo release a New Donkey Kong Country for the Wii. Though I'm sure it wouldn't sell as well as New Super Mario Bros Wii I imagine it would sell much better then other recent Donkey Kong games.
 
Except we all know Rare was the masterminds behind the Donkey Kong Country series. Asking Nintendo to make a new version is a recipe for dissappointment.

Also, DKC2 was definitely the best.
 
I think either EAD 4 or EAD Tokyo could make a pretty good New Donkey Kong Country.

And I'm saying New Donkey Kong Country instead of Donkey Kong Country 4 because I would imagine they would do it in NSMB Wii style. They wouldn't be exactly like the original DKC trilogy but I think either team could make a great DKC game.
