I am so pissed. I just got off the phone with my GR (good thing I called) to see if they were going to have my pre-ordered Doom 3 at midnight. They said, that's no til tomorrow night. I said, WTF, midnight tonight makes it the 4th. That is when they should be open. He said, sorry my manager said tomorrow night. Who the hell is gonna go pick-up a game at midnight 24 hrs after it comes out? I may as well just pick it up tomorrow morning when they open. He say's, Sorry can't get it till tomorrow night at midnight. Then he say's this is weird the computer says the release date was the 1st.

Just go to walmart or something and buy it tomorrow (well today). I've yet to experince a complete sell out of a game city wide (i've seen certain stores like EB or GS sellout but not EVERY damn store in the city), i don't really see the need for midnight sales on games but that's just me. Just wait another damn 8-9 hours and Doom 3 XB is yours. Would it have been nice to have it at midnight, sure..but is it something to really get upset about?
 
Just check in tomorrow regardless. Other people are streeting it tomorrow, GR (and every other business) has it in stock (they shipped it early like they did with Halo 2)..

Um it's a pre-order. I already paid for it at GR. It's not that big of a deal, just stupid that they would be open at Midnight a day late.

Anyway, I just called them back, and he said they screwed up and I can get it tonight. :)

Go to FYE. I picked up my collectors edition yesterday.
You may be a little dissapointed by a few things if you have it on the pc already.

When you get the GR copy you could get a refund.

Street date is today, you should be able to find it everywhere today.
 
I picked mine up on Saturday (had pre-paid for SC:CT and they didn't have one "saved" for me when I went to pick it up, so to make it up to me they let me take Doom III home early)
 
well, a thread on DVDtalk.com says people picked up the game last night during a midnight release....so, hopefully mine will have it today. I have two more games to trade in also.

Went to gamerush last night at midnight to get my pre-ordered Doom 3 CE, and they didn't have it! They only had the regular edition and not the CE. WTF?!!! They said to check back tomorrow... we'll see what happens.

I would have went through the roof. Mine ended up being open last night and they had it. Did you pre-order recently, like within the last week? I know my GR had the games for a few days. What's the point in pre-ordering something if it's not going to be here when advertised? That's like making a car reservation and all the cars being gone. That's the whole idea of the reservation. Sorry, went off on a Seinfeld tangent, I love that episode.

Went back tonight at 8:00Pm and still no Doom 3 CE. what the fuck?!! It's starting to get frustrating. Why bother to go out of your way to advertize the huge "Midnight Sale of Doom 3!!!... Be the first human on Earth to buy it!11!!! etc." if you aren't actually gonna have it in stock? Me no likey the Gamerush right now
