Dragon age dlc install?

So how does dragon age awakening work? Is it an install disc and I still use my regular copy of Orgins to play it? I was confused by what it says on back.

Also, I was thinking of buying the used copy of the fancy delux edition that includes all the DLC then installing to hard drive, then returning it to gamestop. Just like many of us did with the GOTY edition of Fallout 3. Does this work?

The Awakening only disc is stand-alone. You play the game off the disk. You can install it but you must still have the disk in the drive.

If you get the Ultimate Edition, it just installs to your HD and I don't think you have to have the disk in to play.

Good luck finding a used copy of the Ultimate Edition before Christmas, let alone before Dragon Age 2.

Ok thanks, the back of the case on Awakening says requires a copy of Dragon Age Orgins so I didn't understand how that worked, it's a bit misleading if things are as you say. Haha, well I figured I'd start looking now, maybe i'll get lucky.

Sorry to ask again but I'm still a bit confused...

So if I get Awakening, I can install it to the harddrive, then just use my Orgins cd to play either of them? Or can I install Origins and play it with the Awakening disc inserted? Or is it not like the Oblivion expansion pack that you could just download to the hardrive and still use your regular Oblivion game (I think fallout 3 had something with that too). Sorry if that seems odd.
