I just picked up a dreamcast from my friend for free but it doesn't have a power cord. I was wondering if a PS2 power cord would work or would that fry the dreamcast?

PS2 works for it as well as Xbox (I beleive so...since its all round and not round/square). Most DVD Players have similar cables as well.

Look online to see what voltages are required. Use google. You'll find more knowledge there, than you will here.

As is hinted at above, almost all electronics these days have their regulators (the big brick of the AC adapter) inside the unit themselves, so power cords have become more or less universal (the Gamecube being an exception).

And now, because I just woke up and am feeling weird, a quote from the first Ninja Turtles movie:

"Go. Play. Have fun."

Yeah as long as there isn't a brick on it, its interchangable. If there is a brick on it you just have to make sure that the voltage(V) is the same and the current limits(A) are the same or higher.
