Drunken hookups (purchases, i mean)

Just a thread to talk about the topic of purchasing something while slightly...out of it.

Like many things, when under an influence (even slight) things appear better than they would normally- such as deals.

I myself bought a copy of hitman 2 gc for $15 when i was in bestbuy with my friend Al Cohol. I have also bit on a couple online sales (harvest moon) that I probably should not have.

Any one else?
 
Ebay is evil when you're drunk. I came home from the bars one night and bid on about $250 worth of games I didn't really want. Luckily I didn't win any of them.

Yeah You right,I can't Justify spending $50 bucks for a brand new game,but I can easily spend $50+ on night of drinking..
 
My roommate bid (and won) on a man-kilt off Ebay...he spent a good 120 dollars on it. He bid on a matching set of bagpipes too, but thankfully lost that auction. He busted out the kilt not too long ago at a party. It sucks that he spent so much money, but now he's got a kickass conversation starter.
 
Purchasing something under the influence can definitely cloud your buying instincts, although I would say booze is much worse then herb in that respect. That Kilt could be nice during the hot humid summer. :)
 
My friends do this all the time. After a night of heavy drinking, I convinced one of them to buy like $20 worth of Bruce Lee VHS tapes from half.com.
An old roommate of mine once bid $1500 on a gold necklace just because the auction said it retailed for over $25,000 (or something, it's irrelevant). He got outbid, but just barely. We all got a good laugh out of that one.

that would suck so bad if he won. Although he might have been able escape by claiming that he meant to bid $15.00 bud just misplaced the decimal. I used that feature once after bidding a couple hundred on an airhockey table. Shipping would have been about as much too. Glad I got outbid on that one. :lol:
 
Once while I was under the influence I bid on every spiderman action figure they ever made from toybiz from the animated series and it cost me 450.00 and that's without shipping!!!

haha so true. stick to tv and late nite infomercials. those seem to entice me while under the influence. i was really thinking about buying that chocolate fondu set they always advertise on adult swim. luckily i have no motivation at all while under the influence.
 
We have a Ruby Tuesdays at the mall.....I believe we were drinking there and I bought some GLOW-IN-THE-DARK pants....this was back in the rave/party days though

Totally changed now.....it was just a foolish purchase when I had disposable income....
 
I bought a ceasar pita once while really trashed...with double chicken. I get really hungry when I drink, so I buy lots of food. Can't say I've bought games or anything. Maybe I should try that if there's a game I want but is still full-price...

After leaving a party with a few friends, we walked to the local Dominoes Pizza...and ordered 15 pizzas. Luckily, they asked to see payment before they started making the pizzas! They could tell we were pretty drunk...

I hit up the EB Games %75 off used PC games just after i hit up happy hour. I don't think i have played one of the games i bought then, or ever will.

:lol: Quite a few times actually. Although it isn't the best pizza in the city, it is very close, and very cheap; two things I like!
 
I'm just glad there are no late night places around where I live... One time my friend was driving me back from drinking and I wanted to eat, but I was drunk and there was nowhere to eat, so I had ramen instead...
 
I won an ebay auction for $80 for like 20 or so NES games in varying condition (none were cart only, the worst condition was like box and game only). I'm still not sure if it was a good deal, but hey you gotta pay the consequences for your impulse buying.
 
we went to in out out burger once after a night of drinking, buying 5x5s with fries and then seeing hte missing $15-$20 bucks the next day complexed us
